reesebobby 5,661
Fun fact. If the broncos scored exactly 18 points at the end of regulation in every single game, they would have 11 wins.

The Raiders have benched Derek Carr. Head coach Josh McDaniels made the announcement at his Wednesday press conference. Jarrett Stidham will serve as the starting quarterback for the last two games with Chase Garbers coming up to be the backup. Carr will be inactive as the No. 3 QB. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/raiders-bench-derek-carr/ar-AA15KsYs?cvid=50ed24fe3ba649ecaa6632ef2f508284 The elephant in the room is Carr’s contract. He has $40.4 million in guarantees that become fully vested if he’s unable to pass a physical before the third day of the 2023 waiver period, when that money becomes fully guaranteed. So, benching Carr now ensures he’ll be healthy enough to be released before the guarantees convert from injury only. The Raiders could release Carr or they could work out a deal to trade him — though that trade would not become official until the start of the new league year in March. While it seems obvious that Carr’s time with the Raiders has come to an end, McDaniels said that nothing definitive has been decided. and this has to do with Denver how? qnet

Now, it seems unlikely that he will leave his dream job at Michigan where he is paid well and a National Championship contender year in and year out, but never say never. It sounds like the Broncos will at least make a call to Harbaugh to see if he is interested in the vacant Broncos head coaching job. Benjamin Allbright, who is connected as they come within the Broncos media and is someone who is in the building every day believes they will inquire about Harbaugh as well. Allbright is not alone on this either. Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer also touched on the idea that Harbaugh could leave Michigan for the Denver Broncos. “It’s worth mentioning that last week, before the mess of the past couple of days, I heard Jim Harbaugh’s name connected to Denver for the first time. And the more you think about it, the more it makes sense. His record was exemplary in San Francisco (44-19-1), with internal strife, not losses, leading to his exit. There, he helped resuscitate the career of Alex Smith and launch the career of Colin Kaepernick. Everywhere he’s gone, he’s won. He has a relationship with John Elway—from his time as a player and Stanford coach. And he would most certainly stand up to Wilson, whom he coached against in the NFC West.”
Fmbl2187 2,279
Whoever goes where, their decisions are based not just on career but obviously on family situations, schools, circles of friends, emotional (not just financial) commitments, what spouses jobs, friends, kids, situations are. It can always look so simplified, but it isn't. Harbaugh may want to go to Denver in a powerful way, but if those other situations conflict with it, he may stay exactly where he is doing what he is doing now, or go to some team in the NFL in the future.. None of us can know the thousands of things that go into decisions like that.
jetlord 10,207
Why would any top coach want the Denver HC job? They're stuck for several more years with a declining head case at QB and spent much future draft capital on him. It will be three or four years until they can recover from the worst trade in recent history and the coach will be a place holder until that happens. Denver may have to settle for someone who just wants the title and money for a few years.
