You forgot to mention the part where, in spite traveling cross country and with no ability to practice with the team,, McCaffrey is expected to suit up and play against the Chiefs Sunday.🙄

Chiefs HC Andy Reid was asked during his Friday media availability to comment on the team’s interest level. He didn’t deny the reports and rumors, but he also didn’t confirm them either.

“I can’t get into all that,” Reid said. “He’s a heck of a football player, that I can tell you. I don’t know where he is as far as his rehab goes and that whole deal. I don’t really know what (General Manager) Brett (Veach) is (doing). Brett’s always maneuvering. He keeps his eyes open on everything. In my position, I’m like (motions forward) tunneled in on what I’m doing and trying to get the team ready to play with the guys that we’ve got. I’m not going to slight (OBJ), he’s a good football player.”

While many believe that Reid still has his hands in the front office, he’s been quite consistent with his message that Veach has full control over what the team does on that side of the operation. For now, Reid is focused on winning in San Francisco in Week 7, as he should be. Next week, however, Reid might focus a bit more on Veach’s plans to improve the team after the bye week.

ESPN's Dan Graziano reports WR Odell Beckham (knee surgery) is targeting a mid-December return.

This is a downgrade from the mid-November outlook Beckham was given earlier this month. The new timetable pushes Beckham's return into the final month of the season. Signing with a contender for the stretch run remains the likeliest outcome for Beckham coming off his Super Bowl torn ACL. The Rams have continued to keep tabs on Beckham with the "belief around the league" that he'll end up back in L.A.

Our WRs will be fine. Pass rusher please.

THIS. Why are we talking about spending $$ on a WR when we just let the best one go because of the $$.

Patrick has all he needs... we need to shore up the OL and acquire a consistent pass rusher to pick up Clark's considerable slack.

True about letting one go but I disagree that this offense doesn’t need a wr. The question is what kind. We need one that can scare a defense. Take the top off.

Saw this on another tweet....do we stand pat and go into next off season knowing what is said?

reminder that the #Chiefs will have 12 draft picks (for now) and nearly $50m in cap space to start this offseason. Cap space can be close to $80m if they want to break the Mahomes piggy bank.

It would take alot to pry Burns away from the Panthers.  Wouldn't doing a trade like that start to negate the reason why KC did the Hill trade to begin with?

They turned down 2 first round picks for him last week per the link. Think I will want them to pass at this point.  Use the cap space and our draft to get the players we want without giving up picks.

I like the idea of 12 picks and the cap space. Man that sure would be nice. Especially when we have seemed to play younger players this year.
Veach is going to probably do something. Who knows what.

Chiefs (5-2)

Receive: CB William Jackson

Trade: 2023 fourth-round pick

OR

Receive: CB Sidney Jones

Trade: 2023 third-round pick

Kansas City could use some help on defense as it sits 25th in the league in scoring, 30th in passing yards allowed and last in touchdown passes allowed through seven weeks. Possible trade options here include Washington’s William Jackson III and Seattle’s Sidney Jones.

so is this your idea or Blato's? If neither a link would also be helpful

Kansas City Chiefs

RB Ronald Jones

Jones, whom the Chiefs signed in the offseason, has been healthy but has yet to suit up for a game this season. He is a clear fourth among four on the running back depth chart behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jerick McKinnon and rookie Isiah Pacheco, making Jones someone the Chiefs can afford to part with. He could be attractive to a team looking for a back who might be available for a modest outlay and who has little or no wear and tear from the current season. — Adam Teicher

Jerry Hughes trade would make sense for KC Chiefs

First, it should be noted that Hughes is a very productive player even at the age of 34 and for a losing team. Hughes has put up 4 sacks, 8 pressures, 1 forced fumble, and 1 interception this year for the Texans, putting up a solid 76.3 grade from Pro Football Focus. As a productive vet, Hughes would be a solid addition to the mix for the Chiefs.

Beyond this year, the Texans signed Hughes on the cheap to a two-year deal this spring, which means that Hughes could be had for next season for just over $6M. That’s an option for the Chiefs if they like what they see, but the truth is only $1.25M of that is guaranteed—as part of his originally signing bonus. Maybe the Chiefs can even get Houston to eat that, knowing how much money they have comparatively. Either way, Hughes is not cost-prohibitive.

Considering that the Chiefs have more draft picks than they will be able to actually keep next year, it makes sense for them to send a day 3 pick to Houston for the chance to lock up the defensive end position with another productive vet. It’s a move that will make everyone better, take the pressure off of the position, works well within the cap, and even gives the team an option for next year.

Eagles acquired EDGE Robert Quinn from the Bears.

Eagles acquired EDGE Robert Quinn from the Bears in exchange for a fourth-round pick.

The Eagles are 6-0 and have their sights set on a Super Bowl. With Derek Barnett (knee) lost for the season in Week 1, Quinn gives the Eagles more juice off the edge, alongside guys like Haason Reddick, Brandon Graham, and Josh Sweat. Quinn, 32, has 102 career sacks and had been on the trade block dating back to the offseason. Going to Philly puts him in a spot to contribute in a playoff run.

According to ESPN reporters Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano, there is belief that the Cleveland Browns would be willing to part with Hunt in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick.

"There is belief among NFL teams that Kareem Hunt can be acquired for a fourth-round pick, per @JFowlerESPN and @DanGrazianoESPN." -- Bleacher Report

Hunt has split reps in the Browns' backfield with Nick Chubb since signing with the team in 2019. However, he could likely serve as the starter for most NFL teams. As a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, Hunt racked up 1,782 scrimmage yards as a rookie in 2017 and more than 1,200 yards in 11 games the following season.
