From 5th round on it is hard to expect anything more than a first year Special Team player with an occasional late season appearance at his position. At least that is MY rule of thumb. That being said t seems Veach has made finding late round early contributors an art form. His Draft Prospect grade from NFL.com shows him to be an eventual average starter.  If you look at the WR Roster the Chiefs have even with out Cheetah it's hard to imagine he'd be much of a contributor barring injury of a starter or 2.

Expecting much from a 5th rounder is wishful thinking.  There's plenty of busts with first and second day picks.  5th rounders and later are crap shoots.  Plus, there's examples of picks taking several years to contribute.  For every Sneed, there's a Speaks.

Can't really call any 5th round pick a loss but I don't think any WR pick that doesn't see action for 1.5 years is worth that much.
