Chiefs vs Rams

Recommended Posts

Rams activated QB Case Cookus to the active roster.

The former Vikings legend will be dressed for Week 12 against the Chiefs. His promotion from the team's practice squad indicates Matthew Stafford (concussion) is unlikely to play against Kansas City. That could mean Bryce Perkins will get the nod. Rotoworld's Denny Carter wrote about Perkins' fantasy prospects in his Week 12 waiver wire column

Trap Game?

According to Fan Duel, the Chiefs are favored by a rather ridiculous amount of 14.5 points. In a league known for its parity, the idea that any team could be 14.5-point favorites is a bit much but for a defending Super Bowl champion to be that disrespected is unheard of.

Then again, it’s rare for a former champ to limp into a matchup like the Rams are at this point. Right now, no one knows if quarterback Matthew Stafford will play or not. The offensive line is perhaps the NFL’s worst unit overall. The secondary has seen better days with below-average safeties providing little help. Cooper Kupp is out for several weeks with an injury as well. There’s very little to like on both sides of the ball.

It should also be said that the Rams are catching the Chiefs at the height of their momentum. They are dominating opponents and playing like they know what’s at stake. They’re well-coached and deep, young and ascending. They also employ the game’s best quarterback who is writing himself another MVP campaign.

Bryce Perkins is expected to get first-team reps at practice as the Rams prepare for the Kansas City Chiefs.

For the second time in three weeks, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is in concussion protocol. With injuries to Stafford and John Wolford, Bryce Perkins is expected to get the first-team reps this week as the Rams prepare for the Kansas City Chiefs.

According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the Rams are expected to give Perkins first-team reps this week, paving the way for a potential start. It would be the first start for Perkins who was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia.

The Rams used Perkins sparingly two weeks ago against the Arizona Cardinals, playing Perkins primarily in running packages. When Stafford left the game last week against the New Orleans Saints, Perkins threw his first passes in a NFL regular season game.

Perkins went 5-for-10 for 64 yards with an EPA per dropback of -0.092. The Rams backup quarterback led two field goal drives in the second half. He also added five carries for 39 yards on the ground with his legs.

Matthew Stafford (concussion) did not practice Wednesday.

Per Sean McVay, Stafford felt numbness in his legs after taking a hit in Week 11. Stafford returned from a previous concussion last week but left mid-game with another head injury. McVay also did not rule out shutting Stafford down because of the issue. At 3-7, the Rams' season is nearly over already. Playing Stafford by Week 13 may already be a lost cause. Bryce Perkins appears in line to start this week. There's no hope for Perkins through the air, but he could be a productive rusher. He will have some QB2 upside versus the Chiefs.

Stafford has indeed been ruled out. I would imagine that the Rams will rely heavily on their run game which can still be potent. Chiefs defense gives up 4.4 yards a carry. Patrick could have a monster game as long as they are focused and not in "this games in the bag" mode.

JuJu Smith-Schuster (concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.

JuJu may still have a final hurdle or two to clear while in the concussion protocol, but a full practice to open the week is a good sign that he will be back in the lineup on Sunday. Smith-Schuster was forced to miss Week 11 after taking a brutal, helmet-to-helmet shot early in his Week 10 matchup with the Jags. Now hea

Matthew Stafford (neck) will not play in Week 12 against the Chiefs.

The Rams have said Stafford is dealing with a strained neck, but he is also in concussion protocol. He underwent testing on his neck and spine after going down in Week 11. That was Stafford's first game back from a one-week absence due to a concussion. With the Rams' fate for this season all but decided, it wouldn't be surprising to see LA shut down their quarterback if he isn't able to return rather quickly. Bryce Perkins is expected to start versus the Chiefs. His rushing upside will put him on the radar as a QB2 streaming option.

Rams 47

Chiefs 23

Andy Reid cannot be a genius without CEH and Hardman. Sean McVay is so much smarter and will out genius Andy. No Stafford? No Kupp? It is all good. McVay got Goff to score 50+ against KC, this is easy. Mahomes will get pounded by Donald, who attacks him with JuJu’s helmet, Kelce’s helmet, and Wylie’s entire head. Dual wielding is so preseason, juggle attack with three. Toub’s unit gives up a punt return TD, a kick return TD, a blocked punt for a safety, and a blocked PAT for 2 points. Butker never tries a field goal. Los Angeles remains relevant.

Rams run game has been dog shit. 3 lineman missing.

JuJu Smith-Schuster (concussion) is practicing in full for Week 12 against the Rams.

Smith-Schuster will be returning after missing Week 11. With the Chiefs unlikely to have to put the pedal to the metal to beat the Rams, Smith-Schuster is probably more of a WR3 than WR2 with all 32 teams playing in Week 12, but he can immediately be returned to fantasy lineups.

I usually get up for these games expecting a blow out. Third string QB playing on a beat up team. 14.5 point favorite. Somehow the Chiefs make these no name QBs look good and keep the game close. Even the Tenn game should have been easier against that back up QB. The NFL World says no chance Rams win.

I expect a close game. Chiefs score late and win by 10.

Kadarius Toney (hamstring) remained sidelined on Thursday.

At this point, he of the 1,000 hamstring injuries seems all but certain to sit against the Rams, especially since the Chiefs have zero reason to force the issue as monumental home favorites. Toney's continual health woes make him impossible to rely on with the fantasy playoffs approaching.

John Wolford (neck) is practicing in full for Week 12 against the Chiefs.

It puts Wolford in the mix to start in Matthew Stafford's (concussion) absence, though we would expect the Rams are leaning toward Bryce Perkins' dual-threat. Whoever gets the nod will not be a recommended QB2 streamer, though Perkins' legs would give him far more appeal than Wolford, who will be the QB32 if he gets the call.

I don’t care. Wrong thread

lions should be killing these ass Clowns!
chiefs are a much better team than the bills at this point !!

Please refer to earlier posts about superior teams playing down to weaker opponents.  Bills/Lions is similar to Chiefs/Colts except the Bills won.

They rushed for 148 yards last week. Hardly dogshit.

76.1 yards a game 3.4ypc on the year

leading rusher had 283 yards- oh yea, he got fired  and is a free agent

a whopping 761 yards on the season

That is the definition of dog shit

We give up 4.4 yards per carry. They had to run the ball more last week because Stafford is hurt, Kupp is gone. And before you say New Orleans run D is garbage....it's about the same as the Chiefs so. Yes, it would be better for them to attack the secondary. We rank near the bottom in a ton of categories.....but the Rams are missing a lot.
