Except for his impressive TD catch/run, Kelce was pretty much held down. If fact, Mahomes made mistakes trying too hard to get the ball to Kelce when other options were there. Guess with a lead, it didn't matter all that much, but it cost the Chiefs points in the red zone. artsy

JMO it all comes down to trust and altho JuJu one would think has earned it he was on a snap count so how many times JuJu was playing I dont know. The lack of points didn't lose the game and the Rams' D is still stout regardless. JMO the Chiefs should of targeted the endzone once they got to the 35, short yardage is still not the Chiefs strong point it seems especially with a D like the Rams have. mex 65,581
It might have been boring and unproductive, but I think two important goals were met. 1. We established a firm #1 RB who can also catch the ball... which you know Patrick wants 2. Our defense is improving every single game, which was desperately needed. Especially our LBs... but our DL has also been growing in leaps and bounds. qnet and oldtimer

jetlord 10,209
Thornhill hasn't been impressive this season, but the Chiefs still missed him. And the Rams certainly targeted Allegretti. Thuney might have given Mahomes just a bit more time. I think both would have played if this were a more meaningful game. No matter what the staff and players said before the game, they were assuming a win and saving players for Cincy. Holmes4six! 968
In my opinion, chiefs game plan was fairly vanilla. Hence red zone woes. Sure the rams d is legit but chiefs didn’t really need to pull the playbook unless they needed to. First drive of 3 rd quarter is where they did use some of hidden plays in my opinion. All hands on deck for bengals. AFCWEST

Nice having a player like Allegretti who is serviceable and didn't look horrible vs one of the greatest DL in the history of the game. Thuney would have definitely helped though for sure. The safety group has been underwhelming this year. They haven't seemed terrible because of what we trotted out there last year but they haven't been great. mex

If the Chiefs can fix their OT and DL issues, there's a good chance they draft another safety on the second day to complement Cook.
oldtimer 8,686
FWIW Justin Watson led all Chiefs skill players in snaps on offense. He led the receiver group by a considerable margin with 20 more snaps to the next closest player Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Allegretti passed his test against the Raiders — but Donald is a different beast. “[Allegretti] has played a lot of big games for us,” explained Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes after the game. “Throwing him in there with those other guys? They battled the entire game and gave us chances to score points. I’m always proud of those guys — and when they continue to get better and better, we’ll win a lot of football games.” Early in the game, it looked like Donald would be up to his normal tricks. During Kansas City’s opening possession, he registered two tackles and a quarterback hit. But through the rest of the game, he would log just one more tackle — and was largely ineffective in disrupting the Chiefs’ offense. Like his quarterback, head coach Andy Reid was pleased with the performances of Allegretti and his fellow offensive linemen, crediting his offensive line coach for their success. “Aaron’s a pretty good player, so that’s a big challenge,” said Reid of the star defensive tackle. “But [Allegretti] did a nice job. Andy Heck has a nice scheme set up, too — to work slides and so on with him. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/11/28/23481540/chiefs-rams-nick-allegretti-credited-for-aaron-donalds-quiet-day

qnet 1,150
Orlando Brown quietly has had a nice couple of games. I've watched him a few times and he was dominating his rusher pretty good. DieHard

qnet 1,150
KC ranks #1 Offense 16 in points and 14 in yards on defense. I don't expect the defensive stats to stay that high after this game, but that would be nice if they could maintain that.
