kkuenn 3,597
Chiefs Target Another Pass Rusher in Todd McShay's First 2023 Mock Draft By Adam Taylor McKillop | 11:51 AM EST The Kansas City Chiefs target another pass rusher in Todd McShay's first 2023 NFL Mock Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs target another pass rusher in Todd McShay's first 2023 NFL Mock Draft. | Associated Press The NFL enters the final month of the regular season in Week 15 and the league is beginning to get a clear look at the playoff picture and path to the Super Bowl. But this final month also coincides with the end of college football's regular season, and that makes it the perfect time to look ahead at the 2023 NFL Draft. Draft expert Todd McShay unveiled his first mock draft on Tuesday and has the Chiefs targeting another pass rusher. McShay points to Kansas City drafted defensive end Jared Verse from the Florida State Seminoles with the 30th overall pick in the first round. McShay used ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI) to determine the order of his first mock. Selected Verse would mark the second year in a row Kansas City picks an edge rusher in the first round. The team took George Karlaftis III with the No. 30 pick last year. Karlaftis owns 3.5 sacks while playing and starting in all 13 games thus far. McShay cites the potential free-agency losses of Carlos Dunlap (after 2022), Chris Jones (after 2023) and Frank Clark (after 2023) as a major reason Kansas City needs to continue their draft focus on the position. Jones leads the team with 11.0 sacks while Dunlap and Clark have combined for 8.0. Verse has been an explosive option for Florida State this season, racking up 14 tackles for loss. Lamardirts 2,114
Who are some realistic options at 30-31 at DE and OT. A Harrison from OU has been linked to us at OT. I would be ok with either as long as we go with the other in the 2nd. Can we wish for EB to get a HC job for that added 3rd? Its my birthday wish. dhitter 1,424
Never know about DEs. Remember last draft when the Chiefs moved up to 21 everyone was sure it was gonna be Jermaine Johnson (ironically also from Florida State). Johnson has all of 2.5 sacks so far this season. Later we got Karlaftis and he's at 5.5 sacks with most of those coming in the last month. He's trending up. I want a DE that has been a steady producer and not some flash in the pan, one season phenom. If the guy McShay mocks to us is that....then pass. oldtimer

Foskey. ND. Seems to be a great fit. Size, burst, athleticism, productivity. And projected right in our range on most mocks and big boards so far. oldtimer
jetlord 10,207
OT Harrison from OU might be available or at least within trading up range. Edge Uzomah from KSU if he could be had in the second. Probably won't last that long.
