Chiefs Texans Gameday. Chiefs can clinch 7th consecutive AFC West Title

Recommended Posts

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Mecole Hardman (abdomen) is expected to return for Week 16 against the Seahawks after he was not activated for Sunday's game against the Texans.

Hardman had his 21-day practice window opened three days ago. The Saturday afternoon deadline for Week 15 came and went, but it appears the Chiefs saw what they needed out of Hardman this week to ramp up his activity and get him back in the lineup on Christmas Eve. Although Hardman had a few useful fantasy efforts before going down in early November, Kadarius Toney's addition and the end of bye weeks figure to make him an unappealing WR4 for the fantasy playoffs.

Halley's Comet has arrived. Active just five times all year and only three times since arriving in Kansas City in late October, Toney has not played since Week 10. Especially with Mecole Hardman (abdomen) working his way back from injured reserve, the Chiefs have struggled for quality receiver targets behind JuJu Smith-Schuster, but it is impossible to believe Toney will be returning to enough snaps against the Texans to make a WR4 difference. Perhaps he will have some juice for Week 16 if he proves his health and makes a few splash plays in the process against the Texans.

  • The title was changed to Chiefs Texans Gameday. Chiefs can clinch 7th consecutive AFC West Title

Texans declared Brandin Cooks (calf) inactive for Week 15's game against the Chiefs.

Cooks was able to get in a couple of limited sessions on the calf on Thursday and Friday but was declared out on Friday. He's probably the closest of Houston's inactive fantasy-relevant players to getting back on the field next week. Also inactive for the Texans are QB Kyle Allen (not Jeff Driskel), WR Nico Collins (foot), CB Steven Nelson (ankle), OL Kenyon Green (ankle), TE OJ Howard, and LB Garret Wallow.

Kadarius Toney (hamstring) is active for Kansas City's Week 15 game against the Texans.

He's startable in a FLEX spot, but with Mecole Hardman coming back he probably won't be a fantasy playoff fixture this year. DT Chris Jones, questionable with an illness, is also active. Inactive for the Chiefs are five healthy scratches: QB Shane Buechele, DE Joshua Kaindoh, T Geron Christian, T Darian Kinnard, and DE Malik Herring.

I mean let's be serious. The Texans are like the 30th ranked scoring offense in the league and they are coming into this game with Pierce, Cooks and Collins (54% of their offensive yards) all out with injury. If they put up more than 12 points (not including a last minute score in garbage time)... I'm going to start a "Fire Spags" thread that won't leave until he does.

Thanks for the warning. LOL

It’s amazing that mvs has that impressive stat of ypc when you consider timely drops and the number of times he and Patrick just don’t seem to be quite on the same page.  They haven’t seemed to have that connection and feel that Patrick has had with other guys.
