Lamardirts 2,114
I’ve complained a few picks the last two years but boy have I been wrong. Veach absolutely crushing it! Seems like the last two years he stopped trying to take monumental swings on raw players in the 2nd and thirds rounds and starting drafting stud college players. He still takes swings but a little later and he is even crushing those as well. Future looks bright!
sith13 1,746
The last two drafts have been insane. If we can keep up this level of scouting the next decade will see multiple SBs and some of them will be rather easy.
qnet 1,150
I had hope for the other dudes, but Pacheco really surprised me. When a team can get players in the late rounds that hit, that really helps a lot. mex
jetlord 10,209
Most amazing to me is the production from the third day picks. Smith, Gray, Williams, Watson, Pacheco. Helps so much in the future for cap space and young talent with upside. Are the Chiefs the youngest team in the division? They could have a long term superior DB room. LB looks solid. Several D linemen and some young O-line. Except for Jones and Kelce, where is a vital replacement needed in the next few years?

Burpo The Mad Clown 5,555
Amazing drafts. What a contrast to the nightmare drafts of the 1970s and 1980s. The '70s Steelers built their dynasty through one strong draft after another and it looks like the Chiefs are following the same pattern. mex

Considering we had a couple rough years prior these two really filled in some major gaps and set us up well for the future. The scouting department is doing a great job of finding players that fit well. Excited for this years draft!

I would never have guessed. https://www.phillyvoice.com/ranking-nfl-teams-age-after-53-man-cutdowns-2022-edition/ 7th youngest sounds really good. And it is. Until you realize there's like 2 months average age that separates #7 and #20. I think where the age thing becomes a big deal is like the difference in Mahomes vs Rodgers and Brady and not so much the average. West 6,713
Its really Veach and Reid.... The GM is only great when his draft is 100% aligned to the scheme and the Coaches Needs. While Veach hit a home-run with the 2022 draft, Reid played the young guys....That is not Reid's normal style. I have to add the Scags and his D Coaching staff are OUTSTANDING Teachers.... w

Veach has fewer holes to fill this coming draft that last year. Of course, that depends on who is retained and who's let go. Nnadi, Hardman, Thornhill, Saunders, McKinnen, Dunlap, JuJu? Could be that the needs are mainly DE, OT, S, and WR, and he may have already taken care of WR with trading a third for Toney. Last year the list was much longer. Don't know about any of them, but I think McKinnen is worth more to the Chiefs than to any other team. Few coaches would use him like Andy and he's only a rotational back which isn't a high value position. Dunlap has been a great signing for the Chiefs and if he wants to play, this as a good fit for him. Depends on who the Chiefs can get at DE in the off season. Dunlap won't be expensive. JuJu might price himself out of KC. $10 million per year would be my limit for him and if he walks, there are alternatives. He's not a #1 and is replaceable. If Clark is released and Jones is extended, Veach will have some cap space to play with.

Couldn't agree more. He has been solid... but that's about as far as I'd go. He hasn't been spectacular. And with Mahomes throwing to you, it's kinda hard NOT to be spectacular.
