Pigs get fat  and Hogs get slaughterd..OBJ  has done Hogged himself if you believe what is said

Best guess:  He'll get paid, but not as much as he's expecting.  Probably about what Taylor got.  If Taylor can adapt to LT, it will be an upgrade for the Chiefs and a missed opportunity for OBJ.  Playing for the Bears at what he could have had from the Chiefs starting last year has to be a downer.

Anyone else getting the feeling that Veach puts less value on WRs and DBs than much of the league and the fans?  He let Hill go.  Didn't resign JuJu.  Let Thornhill go after drafting Cook to replace him.  Had three rookies and a third year player at CB after dumping the starters from 2021.  So far, it's worked out.  I hate to see some of the FAs go after winning with them, but keeping players too long is a route to decline.  So are the Chiefs done in FA or will they go for one more piece, excluding resigning some of their own?

I think it's more of a scouting thing with DBs as well as coaching. We have been drafting a whole bunch of them with solid production early in their careers and a CB is the only position Veach moved up for in 1st so far in his tenure.

With WRs I think he realizes that with Mahomes you don't need top guys as given the time he'll make anyone look good.

Jonah Williams has requested a trade.

OBJ stirring the pot.🤪

It's funny because Williams was a RT who they moved over to LT... Cincy thinks they're bringing in a natural LT in OBJ so it's safe to put Williams back to the right...

Source: Jonah Williams seeks Bengals exit after Brown deal

CINCINNATI -- The longest-tenured member of the Bengals' offensive line is seeking a trade.

Offensive tackle Jonah Williams has expressed his desire to be traded, a source confirmed to ESPN on Friday. The request comes after four-time Pro Bowl tackle Orlando Brown Jr. agreed to terms with the Bengals earlier in the week.

Williams, the Bengals' first-round selection in 2019, has been their primary starter since he arrived. But his position as the team's anchor on the left side of the line appeared to be supplanted after Cincinnati landed Brown on a four-year, $64 million deal that included a $31 million signing bonus.

In a recent interview with the Bengals radio team, offensive line coach Frank Pollack said that's where Brown will play in Cincinnati.

"He's going to be our left tackle," Pollack said.

The Cincinnati assistant also referenced competition at right tackle, where Williams is currently slotted to play. La'el Collins, last year's right tackle, suffered a torn ACL in the Bengals' Week 16 win over the New England Patriots last season. Cincinnati also signed Cody Ford, a former second-round pick, on a one-year deal.

Williams' trade request, which was first reported by NFL Network, came less than 36 hours after Brown committed to the Bengals and less than a day after Ford's signing was announced.

After missing his entire first season with a torn labrum, Williams has started 42 games over the past three seasons. He started every regular-season game in 2022 despite suffering a dislocated right kneecap in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens. He suffered the same injury in his left knee during Cincinnati's wild-card win over Baltimore, which forced him to miss the next two postseason games.

Williams has been the Bengals' best perimeter pass blocker in each of the past three seasons. As a tackle, he has led the Bengals in pass block win rate, an ESPN metric powered by NFL Next Gen Stats. He ranked 50th in that category in 2021 but dropped to 55th last season. Brown ranked 18th in pass block win rate as a left tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Williams is set to play on the fifth-year option of his rookie deal, which is worth $12.6 million. That salary ranks 63rd among offensive tackles, according to Roster Management System.

At the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis, Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin deferred questions about moving Williams to right tackle to the coaching staff. Tobin had praise for how Williams played in 2022.

"We picked up the option," Tobin said Feb. 28. "He's gonna be with us. We think he's a very good offensive lineman, very good left tackle. When you play tackle in this league, you're never gonna be perfect."

Bills released WR Isaiah McKenzie.

McKenzie was expendable with the signing of WR Deonte Harty in free agency. Buffalo's slot receiver in 2022, McKenzie set career highs in catches (42) and yards (423) while scoring four touchdowns on 65 targets. McKenzie's release saves $2.7 million. The 27-year-old shouldn't struggle for offers as a kick returner that can contribute in four-wide sets.

I personally agree about secondary, i feel it’s essentially impossible to cover for more than a few seconds with todays nfl rule situation. Therefore 75% of stopping the passing game is on the d line. That being said its nice veach seems to have a knack for identifying secondary talent in later rounds.

WR on the other hand to me is the second most important position after QB. Luckily our qb is so god tier that he takes the justin watsons of the world and makes them legit

Tunsil signs extension with Houston to become highest paid LT.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35895381/texans-reach-75m-extension-lt-laremy-tunsil-source-says

Houston Texans left tackle Laremy Tunsil has become the highest-paid offensive lineman in the NFL after agreeing to a three-year, $75 million extension, sources told ESPN on Sunday.

The deal includes a $30 million signing bonus with $50 million fully guaranteed and $60 million in total guarantees, sources said.

In December, Tunsil told ESPN that he wanted to "reset the market" and become the highest-paid offensive tackle. Now the seven-year veteran accomplishes that feat by surpassing San Francisco 49ers left tackle Trent Williams, who has made $23.01 million per season since 2021 on his six-year, $138.06 million extension that included $55.1 million fully guaranteed.

This is the second time Tunsil has received a contract extension that made him the highest-paid offensive tackle. In 2020, he signed a three-year, $66 million deal with the Texans.

The latest extension comes off a season in which Tunsil, 28, was named a Pro Bowler for the third time and finished third among left tackles in All-Pro voting behind the New York Giants' Andrew Thomas and Williams.

Tunsil's production last season ranked among the best in the NFL as he anchored an offensive line that allowed 38 sacks, 14th fewest in the league. His pass block win rate (91.9%) was 17th among offensive tackles, as he allowed only one sack (tied for second fewest) and 17 pressures (sixth fewest).

With the Texans likely to select a rookie quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in April's draft, it made sense for the team to extend Tunsil to protect the potential newcomer's blind side.

The extension comes on the same day that the Texans agreed to trade wide receiver Brandin Cooks to the Dallas Cowboys for a pair of draft picks, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
