Give me Perry.

Hard to predict whether Perry and/or Tillman will be available at 63 or even if the Chiefs could move up in the third for one of them.  But there's other choices.  The guy from Stanford or the one from Nebraska might fit in.  The point is that the Chiefs can wait for a WR if the tackle and D-line positions have value picks in the first two rounds.

My mom loved that show.  I have to admit, looking at old episodes now, it was pretty damned good for its time.

I dug the cars..ya dont see any of them around anymore

Back in a past life I was a Revenuer ( Property Appraiser for Jackson County)  anyway when we where having our Board of Equalization hearings in front of a 3 "Judge" Panel I hummed the theme song to myself.

If WR wasn't a pick in round 1 and Perry was sitting there at 63, I'd run that one to the podium. I'm far higher on Perry than alot of guys maybe, but I see a strong correlation between he and Tee Higgins and man did I like Higgins coming out. If Perry's hands were just a bit better, I'd be banging the drum for him in the 1st.

Cross OBJ of your WR wish list... signed with the Ravens on a one year deal with "up to 18 million".

For that price, they can have him.

Agree.  A lot of teams can purchase a championship for one year.  If they can afford to mortgage their future for a one year chase,  Let 'em.  If you want a longer reign or a dynasty, you just don't do that shit.

Chiefs Wire

What does Richie James’ signing mean for Chiefs’ wide receiver pursuits?

The Kansas City Chiefs added a new receiver to the roster last week, but does the move take the team out of the running for other additions?

The Chiefs agreed to terms with former San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants WR Richie James last week. While James is certainly competitive depth for Kansas City, he hardly moves the needle for the team as far as the wide receiver position is concerned.

As a return specialist, it’s an entirely different story, as he has more professional experience as a punt and kick returner than any other player on the team. It stands to reason that players like Skyy Moore, Kadarius Toney and Isiah Pacheco will earn larger roles in 2023, which means the team had a big need to add a return specialist.

At the receiver position, consider the players the Chiefs have lost (Mecole Hardman and JuJu Smith-Schuster) or have yet to re-sign (Justin Watson). Those players combined for over 100 receptions for over 1,500 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns in 2022.

Say James were to replicate his 2022 NFL season (57-569-4) in Kansas City, the best season to this point in his NFL career, he wouldn’t even be able to replace half of that production. If anything, James is more a piece of the puzzle rather than a solution to the team’s concerns at the receiver position.

Last season, when Kansas City traded away Tyreek Hill, they didn’t replace that star power with more star power. Instead, the team replaced that star power with volume. They had a number of players who contributed at the wide receiver spot throughout the season. There was rarely a week that went by where the leading receiver was the same in Kansas City (excluding Travis Kelce). For now, it seems like they’re once again attacking the problem with numbers.

This move shouldn’t prevent them from going out and adding more players to the receiver room. They won’t be in the market to add someone on a contract like the one that was just handed out to Odell Beckham Jr. by the Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs do still have a need at the position and roster space to make additions.

Right now, they’ve got 10 players at receiver under contract. Last season, the initial iteration of the 90-man offseason roster had 12 receivers. Whether it’s via the draft, undrafted free agency and trade, expect a minimum of two more additions to be made at receiver, if not more.

What are the Chiefs doing with McKinnon, why are they pissing good players off?

I doubt he is getting pissed off, he has been through enough off seasons now and knows how the game is played. Probably wants one more decent contract to finish his career. If Veach stays true tohis plan he will go younger (draft) and keep moving forward. It's nothing personal

What did they do to McKinnon other than not give him an inflated contract?  He's testing the market and there's a good chance the Chiefs will sign him after June 1 for a deal like last season.

I hope this doesn’t bite the Chiefs.  I know Veach has done well so I have to keep reminding myself of the success the Chiefs have had.

I think he will be signed by us.  He is too critical to pass protection for Mahomes and can still catch well and even run OK.

Okay, I missed something.  Is there some animosity between the Chiefs and McKinnon or is this based on the fact that McKinnon hasn't been signed by the Chiefs yet?  Most talking heads seemed to think McKinnon would resign with the Chiefs and last season he did it late and for one year.  Expect the same this go around.  RBs are a dime a dozen with a very few exceptions.  If McKinnon signs with another team, he will be replaced.

The Chiefs offered what they wanted. He has been a FA all off season and other teams are not offering anything even more it seems. The disrespect is real might be at the whole process. Maybe the Chiefs did not offer at all and he is getting nothing for what he feels is a fair deal. Welcome to supply and demand.....economics 101.

Oh, yes he can. When he can take his mind off of running the ball, he can throw darts.

I probably should have phrased that differently. Watched some of his highlights and you're right.

You summed it up perfectly "When he can take his mind off of running the ball, he can throw darts."

He has only passed for over 3000 yards once in his career.

His style of play does not lend itself to a lengthy career. That's going to be the issue in any contract offered.
