Popular Post arrowhead 1,070
Chiefs signed S Mike Edwards, formerly of the Bucs, to a one-year, $3 million contract. The Chiefs let safety Juan Thornhill walk in free agency but have already found his replacement in Edwards. The former Buc is coming off the best year of his career. He took over a starting role in 2022 and totaled 82 tackles, two interceptions, and three pass breakups while playing in 13 games. The Chiefs haven't been making splashy signings this offseason, but they are continuing to fill their holes on both sides of the ball without breaking the bank. This extremely cheap signing for a solid start on defense is another feather in the cap of general manager Brett Veach. mex, DieHard, Boone and 2 others 2

oldtimer 8,686
This would suggest that the Chiefs have a big role planned for him on the defensive side of the ball. The team often uses buffalo nickel packages and other sub-packages with three safeties. When Juan Thornhill left for the Cleveland Browns, you got the sense that Kansas City would look to add another safety to the fold that can work interchangeably with Justin Reid and Bryan Cook. Edwards gives Steve Spagnuolo exactly that type of flexibility.

CranjisMcbasketball 780
Can't say i know much about this guy, other than i was never super impressed with the bucs secondary as a whole. That being said i wasn't too impressed with thornhill either, so i doubt this guy will be a downgrade. in veach we trust that we found another solid safety contributor. Lamardirts 2,114
Had a down year last year according so some but still had 80 some tackles and some turnovers. Is known for being a ball hawk and making some big plays. At 3 million per year that is a great signing. Veach is filling every hole he can in FA and the draft is going to be BPA for days! oldtimer
DieHard 2,061
I think this group, with Dunlap back, will be even better. Just need some beef inside next to Jones. Crazy versatility, especially if my Rolla boy can pop back. Whorton and Danna are great bench guys with those creative schemes. DT and we are looking solid on D. Playing on house money in the draft. BPA. mex and West 1
jetlord 10,209
These signings at positions of need are ruining my mock drafts. Darn you, Veach. Mr Ev and oldtimer 1
