kccrow 529
Chiefs will likely make a few more signings in FA, we'll see. I'd guess WR, DT, vet swing OT, and let's wager they bring back RB Jerick McKinnon. So, let's call it DT Armon Watts (CHI), WR Jalen Guyton (LAC), OT Josh Wells (TB), RB Jerick McKinnon. All should be modest/minimum deals. 2023 Mock Draft 1.031 - NT Mazi Smith, Michigan (6'3" 337) 2.063 - WR Tyler Scott, Cincinnati (5'10" 177) 3.095 - ER Isaiah McGuire, Missouri (6'4" 268) 4.122 - OT Wanya Morris, Oklahoma (6'5" 307) 4.134 - ER Tavius Robinson, Mississippi (6'5' 257) 5-166 - FS Anthony Johnson Jr., Iowa State (6'0" 205) 6-178 - CB Darrell Luter, South Alabama (6'0" 189) 6-217 - DT Dante Stills, West Virginia (6'4" 286) 7-249 - RB Deneric Prince, Tulsa (6'0" 216) 7-250 - OT Earl Bostick Jr., Kansas (6'6" 309) Chiefs Depth/Roster Chart QB P. xen 1,010,218
Mazi scares me. Where's the pass rush production. Orherwise you spent a 1 on a space eater. Scott as well. His coach talking about 4.2 or 4.3 40. Wonder what happened?

We need Edge or LT. link says 4.4 https://www.nfl.com/prospects/tyler-scott/32005343-4f71-9390-286c-9940bb34941f Overview While the comparison to T.Y. Hilton might raise some eyebrows, Scott is a similar player in body type, speed and versatility. With just two seasons of starting experience at receiver, his route running and ball skills are almost certain to continue to improve and become less of an issue for him in the future. He has the speed and shiftiness to uncover on all three levels. Also, he offers jet sweep and receiver screen value. A smallish frame and lack of hand strength are likely to continue to plague him on contested catches, though. Scott is an ascending talent whose versatility and playmaking talent create an easily projectable upside as a good starting slot receiver early in his career. Strengths Junior Olympic sprinter with electric top-end speed. Ten of 14 career touchdowns went for 30-plus yards. Very fluid and athletic in his movements. Able to accelerate to top speed very quickly. Drives and leverages coverage away from stem points. Former high school running back with excellent run-after-catch talent. Offers dynamic versatility due to his skill set. Punt return potential waiting to be cultivated. Keeps pedal floored while turning to track the deep ball. Weaknesses Fundamentals need sharpening as a route runner. Still learning to make footwork look similar in all routes. Drifts at turns, allowing undercutting by corners. Has some trouble fighting through physical coverage. Needs to work back to the throw more consistently. Allows catch space to be overtaken down the field. Limited catch radius and lacking hand size/strength. Sources Tell Us “I like receivers with running back backgrounds because it’s so valuable having run-after-catch guys on the field. Plus, he’s got track speed to go with it!” -- Area scout for AFC team

Mecole is 4.33 and Tyreek was 4.31... they're considered blazers Hell Jerry Rice was 4.58 That's why they need length just as bad as speed. And hands tend to help. jetlord 10,207
The Chiefs have Toney and Moore as one type of receiver and maybe Hardman will be back as a similar type. They could use a taller, fight for the ball, type either from FA or the draft. (or both) Tillman or Perry stand out to me but there are probably others in the day two draft. OBJ or Hopkins would do the same quicker, but at higher cost and shorter term. Lamardirts

Trey Palmer, Darius Davis, Matt Landers... all later-round guys Wondering if Andy/Veach already have their crosshairs lined up on someone... jetlord 10,207
There's a lot more to getting open than straight line speed over 40 yards. Speed doesn't help when fighting for 50-50 balls or high pointing the catch. The Chiefs have speed receivers in Toney and MVS. They need a variety of types to ease the pressure on Kelce and make those first downs. JuJu did it in the SB and he's no burner.

MVS was open a number of times when Mahomes just missed him. Could be that MVS just wasn't in sync or maybe Mahomes just didn't put the ball in the right spot. I'm not an MVS fan, but he does bring something the Chiefs need and he played well enough to save the AFCCG when nearly everyone else went down. But every team needs a straight line burner to take the lid off the defense. That's how we beat press coverage and it's how we protect Kelce and lengthen his career. Devon Achane in this draft is a very similar RB to tyreek when he came out. Almost exact same size and speed profiles. Both displayed good hands in college but not the size for RB. Just saying.
