They'll be back. They had one of the best drafts in the league.

It appeared that the Eagles were letting McKinnon score unopposed on that play.  Guess they thought their odds of getting a tying TD was greater than Butker missing a chip shot.  Don't think they could have forced the ball into the end zone on that play.  Before the play the Chiefs planned to not score and the Eagles planned to let them score.

Their options were zero.  It was a lose-lose situation.  I could feel the "freak out" in them.  When McKinnon put his knee down, it was like they had a temper tantrum .  It feels like that temper tantrum began with Kadarius Toney's 65 yard punt return. The realization of defeat for them started then.

The realization was that the same thing that had happened to so many other teams before them was going to happen to them, as well... after confidently leading during the game, they were about to get CHIEFED.

Getting CHIEFED is that sinking feeling that no matter how well you've played, no matter how big your lead was, no matter what you try next... the inevitable is about to happen. KC found a way, made clutch plays, and finished you off you before you even saw it coming.

There's something special about seeing that fear in the opposing teams.  They know it has happened before to other teams, but they don't think it'll happen to them... until it does.

See how long they last when Hurts' salary kicks in.  Shorter window than the Chiefs.

Actually, Hurts' contract is fairly team-friendly. Maybe not quite so friendly as Mahomes' but Philly will definitely be able to field a competitive team.

The question is, how long can Hurts last without getting hurt? NFL... not fer long

I think Hurts chances are better than Lamar's..Hurts can already throw

Interesting take.  The Eagles came right back with a TD and two pointer to tie the game.  They had to feel that one more possession would win or go to overtime.  Mahomes run on a bum ankle was probably the point where they stared probable defeat for the first time.  But you have a point.  Teams have to know that Mahomes, except for the AFCCG the previous season, will find a way to come back if given a chance.
