jetlord 10,209
It will be very difficult for the Chiefs to win five more in the next ten years. Too much parity, too many cap issues, and too much luck factor. It could happen, but there's a lot of solid QBs in the AFC that can challenge on any given Sunday. My hope is that the Chiefs can do it. My expectations are that the Chiefs are always competitive, their games are meaningful, and that they keep the talent to go deep into the playoffs every year. If they do just that, they will win the SB several more times. Also have to wonder how long Reid will continue coaching and how his departure will affect the team. mex, Fmbl2187 and oldtimer 2

kccrow 529
If you extrapolate Pat's current pace on playoff games played to the 48 that Brady played, here's what you'd get: Brady: 48 G 35-13 W/L 1,200/1,921 ATT/COMP 62.5% 13,400 YDS 88 TD 40 INT 9 4QC 14 GWD Mahomes: 48 G 38-10 W/L 1,207/1,793 ATT/COMP 67.3% 14,002 YDS 120 TD 24 INT 10 4QC 14 GWD By my estimation, that's 1 more SB win. If Atlanta doesn't completely meltdown in the 2nd half... Brady has one less ring. Luck and circumstance tend to favor the elites. Let's hope it proves out with Patrick the next 10-12 years. xen 1,010,220
This oughtta make you all feel better. Direct quote when asked about his contract being surpassed so quickly. “Yeah, I mean, it’s awesome for not only the quarterback market but for just the market of players in general. You want the salary cap to keep going up; you want players to keep getting more and more money. When I signed my deal, I knew I was going to be pretty set for life regardless of what the market kind of [did]. But you just keep playing. I mean, money is one thing, but when you get those Super Bowl rings at the end of your career, I think that’s going to be the thing that you look back upon. I think I’ve made enough money from the football field — and obviously off of it as well — that it won’t matter at the end of the day.” - Patrick Motherfuckin' Mahomes Troyofoc, West and mex 2

There is advanced and sustained finesse, not a momentary expression of power or athleticism. But probably few readers of that post have really seen Nureyev. You have to see it to believe it. It just goes to show how precarious winning can be even with an elite team. IIRC, after the 2921 season, all four divisional games were decided by a last second FG. This past season, the Chiefs won the AFCCG and SB with FGs in the last few seconds. My earlier post, which you so masterfully disparaged, was meant to say that the Chiefs can be the best team and still be lucky to win even a fourth of their SBs over the next few years. This is a golden age for Chiefs fans and they should be able to enjoy the ride even without Mahomes winning more rings than Brady IF that's the way it play out. mex

mex 65,581
Let the disrespect continue. Patrick Mahomes Named NFL's Third-Most Marketable Player by OLBG Story by Jordan Foote • 5h ago Patrick Mahomes Named NFL's Third-Most Marketable Player by OLBG© Provided by Arrowhead Report on FanNation The NFL offseason is still in full swing, allowing NFL players to get involved with their off-the-field endeavors much more now than during the season. For Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, as well as many others, this makes for a busy time despite not having games to play every week. As Mahomes has risen to the pinnacle of the sport and is now regarded as the best quarterback (and perhaps the best player) in the game, his following has done nothing but grow over the last five or six years. He's a household name in most cases, and his popularity rivals some of the NFL's other top superstars. OLBG recently created an index that determined the most marketable players in the league, and Mahomes took the No. 3 spot. Here's some of what OLBG's article had to say about Mahomes: Having one of the largest social media following of any active NFL star (5.6m), Mahomes scores remarkably high for audience reachability (94.3%) and also well for audience authenticity (69.24%). Combine this with the third-highest audience quality score (83/100) and a strong positive sentiment on Instagram posts (58.36%), Mahomes is likely any brand’s dream. Thanks to his outstanding performances on the field, Mahomes has managed to sign some of the biggest deals in the NFL. Working with the likes of Bose, Oakley, State Farm, and EA, he also signed a massive 10-year deal with Adidas which resulted in him being one the highest-earning stars from off-field endorsements. Mahomes is succeeded by San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams to round out the top five. Ahead of Mahomes were just two stars: Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Mahomes drew praise from OLBG for his incredibly high audience reachability score (94.3%) and overall audience quality (83/100). His estimated earnings/charges per post were found to be $21,200 with an earned media value of $22.15. Explanations for each metric can be found on OLBG's homepage for the index under methodology.
