Kansas City Chiefs uniquely suited to continue dynasty in 2023 NFL season

Actually, a pretty nice fluff article from Scott Pioli.

We may end up seeing a crystal clear example of "3) Assembling a defense that peaks at the right time" if the Chris Jones situation implodes and Veach is left to pick from the scraps to get a decent assembly up front, which I would argue strongly doesn't yet exist on this roster.

Pioli certainly has experience in the dynasty aspect.  It takes an organization... NE clearly set that standard. I mean, they picked up a QB nobody wanted... had him as a backup to Drew Bledsoe, then the organization gave him the opportunity to become the GOAT.

Nothing against 12... he had talent and certainly made the best of his career by making the plays when asked. (Except in a certain AFCCG) But he was just a part of their success. He came into a great situation, and was the perfect fit.

Patrick is twice the QB that TB was, talent-wise, but he can't do it on his own. NE is proof that the foundation is roster depth, and you get roster depth from a great organization.

To me, this article is proof that we need to trust Veach, Andy etc in this CJ drama.

Getting picks, using cap saved in FA and you might come out with 2 good D line guys and a true WR or TE replacement for kelce in the future if they traded Jones.

The time to trade Jones was last March, but Veach couldn't forecast the hold out.  Jones trade value isn't as high as some here would like to believe.  Some team with plenty of cap space and needing a DT with probably three years max left in him isn't going to trade away their future first rounder plus unless they are already contenders.  How many of those are out there?  The trading team would owe Jones a huge contract plus give up valuable picks.  Sounds like the deal for Clark that so many of us criticized a few year ago.

Bears are in a division that is wide open and they have picks to spare.
