Tore the UCL in his elbow, played all 79 snaps in the game. Doesn't get any tougher than that!

We gotta resign this guy.

Allegretti may have played himself into a good offer to start for another team.  Would love to keep him, but how much can the Chiefs afford for a backup IOL?  Maybe the plan could be to have him replace Smith at RG the next year since Smith will command a good payday.

Re-signing Allegretti has got to be a priority. But, Jet has a point. A starting quality guard who sits on the bench may be a luxury the Chiefs cannot afford.

Would love to see him back.

You can find guards all over the draft.

Is a recovery for his elbow as long as a similar injury to a knee?  Sure would be nice to have him back next season.

A UCL tear is Tommy John surgery.  Up to 12 months for a pitcher.  No idea for a lineman but that can't be much better.

I said in another topic we were fine with Allegretti at LG when Thuney went down. Now seeing this and if he can play sooner rather than later before the season starts..... what if Thuney moved to LT, Allegretti then at LG? Might take care if the LT for now while we go after other needs in FA and draft for a future tackle etc.

Thank you.  Wonder how he played through it.

He got a elbow brace and kept trucking.  AQ Shipley was on yesterday's Pat McAfee show and while he gave the nod to Allegretti for finishing the game, he did state that a lot of linemen suffer this injury, and referred to the number of elbow braces worn by OLinemen around the league.  He named a few others and said they played the season with torn UCLs.

Recovery timelines are probably different for OLine vs. MLB pitchers and NFL QBs (this was Purdy's injury last year).  But still, hell of a job to play through it, especially against SF's DLine.
