Caliendo?  Looks like we're a bit light on interior oline so I expect we'll see some additions, but that could also be FA after the draft.  Allegretti did well for us but let's be honest, he was a replacement level player.

What do you think of Puni?  Aside from the fact that he's contaminated from playing at KU, he seems pretty capable of playing all the O-line positions at least at a replacement level or better.

Good player.  Yes aside from his poor decision making when picking a school.

He picked the correct school!  And the dude has a really good chance of being a solid nfl player.

Allegretti was a 7th rounder.  Draft another one.

So was Pacheco.  That doesn't mean the Chiefs should always wait until the last round to fill the RB room or the IOL positions.  They've hit gold on every round at one time or another.  They've also whiffed on every round.  The odds of getting a solid player increases in the earlier rounds.  That's why I'd be good with the Chiefs using their third or fourth round pick on an OG to replace Allegretti and eventually Tre Smith or Thuney.

Xavier Worthy

That is all

You may be right.  The first time a 210 lb. safety levels him, that will be all.  Tank Dell 2.0?

I have nothing against Worthy and if the Chiefs think he is the man, then I'm happy with that decision.  He's certainly an Andy type WR.  But even with his possibly high ceiling, there's also a lower floor.  There's a reason he's ranked all over the charts by various "experts".

Fuck your floor.

Get Worthy.

Veach identifies Chiefs position targets NFL Draft

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs have several spots to fill on the roster ahead of the 2024 season.

On Friday, general manager Brett Veach identified these positions of need for the back-to-back Super Bowl champions:

  • Depth at guard/center

  • Competition at left tackle

  • Wide receiver

  • Cornerback

  • Safety

  • Linebacker

Veach also mentioned that the Chiefs begin to build depth for the team in the offensive line and defensive line..........

The team currently has 16 to 18 players they see as first round picks and Veach has around 221 players in total on his draft board..........

Would have thought DT so we can get something good next to Jones and quit the 1 year deals for Nnadi.

I'm okay if the Chiefs use a fifth to replace McMillian but think Schrader is too slow for that role.  There's several pass blocking, pass catching, elusive guys that should be available in the mid/late rounds.  Still think the priorities should be OT, WR, IOL, and DT.  Everyone seems to want a TE, but there's no replacement for Kelce and it's too early anyway.  I can see a replacement for Gray or Irv Smith if a TE falls to the fourth but that's about it.

how is finding a heir apparent TE too early?? TK wil be 35 at Seasons start with 2 years  left on his contact. Last year with the incredibly deep  class was the time.. you must be a Christmas shopper that buys the day before Christmas and hopes something is left.

I have been high on Iowa TEs because they have been very good. One that I saw Iowa play and think he could do really well learning a year behind Kelce is Tip Reiman. He will be available in later rounds and I do believe Reid could use him better than he was in college.

There's several prospects that could be the #2 TE for the Chiefs and replace Gray next year.  There's only one who projects as a player who could fill Kelce's role and that's not needed for probably two more years plus I don't see the Chiefs trading away the draft to get a top ten pick for a TE.  If Sinnott or Wiley or maybe Keon Johnson fell to the fourth, I'd be good with it.  Otherwise, wait another year.  It's always nice to upgrade a position, but there's bigger priorities than TE.

Yeah a second TE that could really relieve pressure off of Kelce. But he doesn't need to worry about pressure as he is good in the that. But a second TE could help Kelce out a bit.

I really think we need to move up and get this massive LT from Penn State instead of a wide receiver. It’s not sexy but this guy is a pure pass protection specialist. Could protect Mahomes for the next decade.
Olu Fashanu - LT - Penn State - 6'6" - 312 pounds
