Packers will face Eagles in Brazil in Friday night season opener

The Green Bay Packers will play the Philadelphia Eagles when the NFL holds its first regular-season game in Brazil on Sept. 6.

The matchup in Sao Paulo will mark the first time since 1970 that the NFL has played a Friday night game on the season's opening weekend.

The game will stream exclusively on Peacock and also be available on free broadcast television in the local markets of the Eagles and Packers.

Am I missing something here cause the couple different articles I’ve read ion it makes it seem like they aren’t doing the Thursday night opener and instead doing this.

When does the 2024 NFL Season start?    
    
While we don't know much about the 2024 NFL season yet, we do know that the Week 1 opening game will feature the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs at home on Thursday, September 5.
