Chiefs defeated both Super Bowl Teams

I guess I need to point out I was joking. That's why I used the smiley and the wink.

Sure az.....veil your tirade with a smiley and pass it off as a casual, lighthearted remark. But the majority of us here know you meant every frickin' word!!!!

How's that? :)

Kansas City lacked one thing that is needed. They lacked consistency. There were several reasons for this, and we have enumerated many of them before. The bottom line is it is difficult for a team to learn how to win. Its a long season. The differences in talent is not that great. All teams have flaws. Winning teams learn to win despite those flaws. The Chiefs just need a few more pieces, but also... they need their current players to step up when called upon. A prime example of this was in the first game of the season. The Chiefs needed a performance out of Hemingway. Bowe was on suspension. Hemingway had a pass thrown right at him. He had the opportunity, but he failed. The Chiefs may have lost even if Hemingway played better. Who knows now? Time in and time out, unknown players have made the difference. Whether it be in college basketball, or football at any level. Teams depend upon the unsung hero to come through.

This year only 12 players in the Super Bowl will have been first round draft picks. On the other hand, 40 players playing in the title game were never drafted by any team. We can consider the draft as a determining factor for teams, and whether a player is good enough. However, it isn't always the most gifted player that makes the most of his opportunity.

Interesting stat on the 1st rounders. Talent can be found across the board. We are seeing more undrafted players who are making an impact in the league than ever before. The problem is that when a team does draft a player in the first round (could include 2nd and 3rd round as well), they are going to afford a certain commitment to said player because of the fact they were a first round pick. A guy walks on and makes the team but doesn't perform...he gets cut. No big deal. A 1st rounder is going to get several years of time and attention to try and work things out. Then if you come to the realization they are never going to amount to anything you've invested so much that it becomes a setback to the team. Pile several busts in a small window of draft time and it really sets a team back. Players, when given the opportunity, need to maximize their opportunities. Hemingway is a good case in point of a player that had potential but failed when called upon.

Both games were at home....you guys talk about what a huge advantage Arrowhead stadium is....

Beat them on the road and I would be impressed....

So beating the AFC champions 41-14, regardless of where it was played, is not impressive? One can always find a reason to be "impressed or not" depending on their inclination at the time.

not when you fail to make the play offs. IT was fun, yes, but we couldnt beat this patriots team now. they found their stride, they would take the Chiefs down anywhere.   After that game. The patriots got their head out of their asses.
