Weekly Rooting Guide

I hope they miss the playoffs entirely. It seems Manning is rushing to get back in as the starter. Osweiler is faltering a bit. He just might be a choke specialist. It will be fun to watch this team embroiled in a quarterback controversy as their season fades away.

NO NO Broncostud said Brock Osweiler is the second coming of John Elway and Alex Smith sucks. Seems once teams get a little tape on a player things start to change a little bit.

Well the second coming of Elway didn't get the memo because he is the worst in the league when it comes to 3 and outs.

Ouch

I thought their run game would be stellar this year.

That doesn't help.

They brought in 11 running backs to look at, and one of them was Richardson. So, that tells me they are in a hurt. Their OL is probably as much of a problem as anything.

Just a heads up to you guys who are watching the wildcard race, Dallas plays the Jets on Saturday, not Sunday. I don't know why they are playing on Saturday, but they are. Usually games will be switched to Saturday if Christmas falls on a Sunday.

The NFL is all about money and the two teams playing Saturday are among the top promotions for the markets.  The bad thing is that I'll have to hold my nose and root for the Cowboys.  That hurts.

If the Bengals win tomorrow night and we win next week, we will host Denver unless: Denver or the Jets lose.

In that case, we would host the Steelers, unless the Steelers lose to the Browns, in which case we'd play the Jets.

If the Bengals win tomorrow and we win AND both Denver and the Jets lose, we'll host the Jets, unless the Steelers lose, in which we'd host Denver,

Convoluted enough? (There may be differences if teams tie, but not doing that right now.)

If Denver wins tomorrow and we win next week, we will go on the road against the Texans, unless Denver loses.

If Denver wins tomorrow, we win next week, and Denver loses next week, we will host Denver, UNLESS the Jets lose and Steelers win. In that case, we'd host the Steelers.

If Denver wins both games and we win next week, we'll play the Texans on the road.

If Denver wins out and we lose, we'll play Cincinnati on the road.

Wouldn't worry about New England or Bengals or Broncos getting the first or second seed. I can think about those teams later.

If what I think happens, happens, we'll face the Texans on the road.

If not, the second most likely scenario is hosting Denver. If Denver loses tomorrow, I'll be rooting for them to beat the Chargers. I know the Steelers lost today, but I don't want to play them unless we have to or advance. I think they had their wake up call.
