The Denver Broncos, led by always-aggressive General Manager John Elway, are staying busy in the trade market with the NFL trade deadline only a day away. On Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter broke the news that the Broncos have acquired two-time Pro Bowl tight end Vernon Davis from the San Francsico 49ersfor an exchange of late-round draft picks through 2017.

Schefter later clarified that the 49ers are sending Davis and their 2016 7th round pick to Denver; the Broncos are sending two 6th round picks in return (2016 and 2017).

The Broncos, via General Manager John Elway, have since confirmed the move on social media.

Davis was a Pro Bowl tight end in 2009 and 2013, and a second-team All Pro in 2013. He's been banged up in 2015 but has played in recent weeks; any trade will be incumbent upon Davis passing a physical by the Broncos, of course.

49ERS SEND DAVIS AND A 2016 7TH ROUND DRAFT PICK. BRONCOS SEND TWO 6TH ROUND PICKS (2016 AND 2017)

Broncos tight ends have been under fire for much of the 2015 season, asOwen Daniels and Virgil Green have not effectively filled the pass-catching role left behind by Julius Thomas in free agency (outside of Week 8, anyway). The addition of Davis would certainly address that and also give Denver some three-tight end opportunities.

The draft pick compensation isn't bad for the Broncos, either. They keep their ten projected draft picks in 2016 (swapping a 6th for a 7th rounder) and give up a pick in 2017.

Welcome to Denver, Vernon Davis!
