Overcoming Adversity

Recommended Posts

The ultimate adversity was going through a 5 game losing streak which was preceded by the home debacle to Denver.

This team is back and stronger for that. They can use this to propel them throughout the rest of the season into the playoffs? They never folded it in, like us fans. Gotta give Fat Andy credit.

This team is remarkable at dealing with negative injuries and situations. Very impressive. Todays game had it all. Lots of reasons to fail but no submission by anyone.

Yep, dealing with adversity is what has been missing in the past. Starting 9-0 is great but, overcoming adversity and peaking in the second half of the season is much better as far as playoff runs are concerned.

I coach a little league team. Last year we started 0-6. We lost every game by one or two runs. We finished the season 6-0 and won the end of the year tournament. Our final record was 9-6. We started the season named the Dawgs (short for Bulldogs). We finished the season named the "Junk Yard Dawgs." It was one of the best experiences of my life.

This year the same team went 12-1. They won first place in the regular season and won the end of year tournament. However, it was not as special as last year. I just can't tell you how meaningful that experience was and the impact it had on all of our lives. It was the true definition of never quitting. I know I sound cheesy but I am telling you - this is how champions are made.
