Smith made that throw believing Maclin would win that battle. That was far more informative than "Noodle". The ball was underthrown for the distance Maclin should have gotten, but there was a lot that went wrong with that play all-around, including the excessive contact (holding) from Verrett. Almost got there, but Wilson came open, and burned San Diego for a score. Wilson's power through the arm tackle is testament to his lower body strength.
