DefensiveMan 758
Smith will be missed but he is not irreplaceable. The Chiefs put their emphasis on the pass rush and ability to stop the run with DJ and Howard. I am pretty sure they will line somebody up at CB opposite Marcus Peters, no reason to panic. w Gaines, would be the ideal person to fill Smith's slot. Peters, was ultimately drafted to fill the #1 corner void. We'll be fine. Nelson, could be our slot guy, he had some game-time towards the end of the year even in the post-season. West 6,714
yes....agree. The New GM has a knack for finding players...Smith's replacement may already be on the roster. w
Gil 243
Not good news by any stretch, but he is not irreplaceable. I don't want this to come off as sour grapes towards him, but he has TERRIBLE hands and missed out on way too many picks. I have the utmost confidence in Gaines and I think Nelson will be a good one. ATLchief 3,126
Definitely stings, but I don't see it as the end of the world. Hopefully, Gaines can stay healthy.
liquidfriend 1,151
Sign Grimes.No. He's finished and his wife is psychotic. Sean Smith is a good player, but his decline is probably due to start in a year or so. The Chiefs drafted their #1 CB a year ago and have options between Gaines and a deep draft class for #2. Losing Smith isn't critical and everyone should of seen this coming when they chose Peters.
