I don't know if the worse part of the Grubbs deal was the money lost on the extension ruined by injury, or the expenditure of a fifth-round draft pick. Actually, it's both put together that really makes this bad.
FANATIC 852
Ouch. He was playing well. So oline , guards still not good.
DieHard 2,061
I thought Grubbs played horribly last year. Now he failed his physical. He needs to retire. I think his body is done.

NFL Grading would dispute that. He played well per the so called experts.
DefensiveMan 758
I'd play Fulton at LG. He showed some promise towards the end of the season.
West 6,714
That's a shame....I would like to know the details of the failed physical. Neck Injuries are tricky things, perhaps KC can relieve some of the "dead money" if Grubbs retires due to his injury. w
DieHard 2,061
NFL Grading would dispute that. He played well per the so called experts. I would have to remind them that he only played in the first 7 games most of which he (any most others) missed blocks and assignments repeatedly. I thought I remembered that we were all shocked at how bad he looked on the board. Then he missed half the season and now he is a good player? They should check their criteria or my memory is not very accurate.
DieHard 2,061
I'd play Fulton at LG. He showed some promise towards the end of the season. I think I might keep Fulton at Center and Morse at guard. That was a pretty good combination I thought.
KCSLC2008 606
You're right, DieHard, about Grubbs not being very good the first 7 games (no one was very good then) and I don't remember him coming back, but I'm not the best at knowing these things, just based on the board. FANATIC 852
Chiefs released LG Ben Grubbs (neck) with a failed physical designation. Grubbs signed a "four-year, $24 million" deal after the Chiefs acquired him in a trade last offseason. Grubbs was solid over the first half of the season, but he ended the year on injured reserve with a neck injury. This move suggests the injury is serious. Cutting Grubbs saves the Chiefs $1.1 million against the cap, but leaves behind $5.2 million in dead money. eraser 722
This amounts to one of the worst trades in KC history. John Dorsey got TOOK!

liquidfriend 1,151
Nailed it again. Grubbs was done guys. He had a good week or two than began to fall off a cliff. That's why KC got him for a 5. Sure 1 million savings isn't much, but the guy just can't go.
