What next?

Looking ahead, it would seem the Chiefs have a good opportunity to fatten their record before the first Donk game.  The next five weeks look a lot less scary with the Panthers in the dumps and the other four games should have the Chiefs as favorites.  7-3 or better is a real possibility.  Gotta do one at a time, but the near future looks good unless injuries derail them.

The Chiefs could be without the services of Gaines and Peters. Peters left the game today on concussion protocol rules. White got burned, but responded with a key play on defense, later. The Chiefs have to overcome injuries. If they can, they may be in good position. If not, it will be an also ran year again. The key to the NFL is how teams overcome adversity. That is why New England repeats, and Cleveland repeats in another way.

JC, Ware, Maclin, Hill, Kelce, Conley, DAT this team is loaded with speed and talent. If the O line can gel, this offense should be top 5. If the defense gets any type of pass rush it should help the DBs. White is terrible at locating the ball. Gaines is useless in the training room. I'm pretty concerned about CB2.  D line will be fine, ILBs are fine. Safeties seem to be up and down. Interested to see how they bring Houston along.

New Orleans is going to throw a lot. Hope Gaines can put tape on all his paper cuts. Made out of a brown bag.

Wet field is hard on guys with leg injuries. I think that is why Charles also was a little limited. Easy to tweak an injury in that situation. Hope he is good to go!

Ware has been a beast and has played extremely hard even when the rest of the offense was tanking it. He deserves considerable playing time. The 1-2 punch of him and JC should be impressive. I would like to take a few deep shots down the field to Hill. Like on a 2nd & short. Spread this thing out. Could you imagine how much more effective this offense could be if they feared that Hill or DAT could blow the top off of the defense?

Yes. If only there was pass protection.

Some people say that Smith makes the pass protection look worse than it is in some aspects and his legs made it look better in some other aspects. But if you know what you have and Smith and Smith is the quarterback and you want Hill to get the ball deeper, yes, the protection must be better. Then, you add on the fact that our team has had injuries to a line that just improved but hasn't been set long.

The one time Smith tried a deep ball to Hill, he literally took the shotgun snap and threw it. He has to with his arm strength. Pass protection won't be a problem. If he took the time to drop back, he'd never reach Hill. There's not a CB in the league that can run with Hill. Teams will have to bring a safety over the top to help out which means he's not creeping up to the line in the run game. Now do the same with DAT on the opposite side. Just take a couple of shots. Make the defense think about it.
