Mid season look.

Recommended Posts

Half way through the season and most of the West Division is about where we predicted.  Maybe OAK is a game ahead of where they were expected to be but there haven't been too many upsets to this point.  As for the second half, this could be a close one with both wildcards coming from the division.

DEN:  @ N.O.    Tough road game and I don't see the Donks scoring a ton.  Need to shut down Brees.

K.C    Should win at home, but Chiefs might play them tough and pull it out.

@ JAX  Win for the Donks

            @ TENN   Another win.....probably

N.E    How did Denver manage to get the toughest teams at home?  Brady > Simian

@ K.C.  Chiefs win at Arrowhead to split with the Donks.

                OAK   Payback time at home

  Final record 11-5 or 10-6

OAK:   HOU  The Texans don't play well on the road so give this one to the Raiders

CAR   Panthers are starting to come around and will win this one.

BUF   Gotta favor the Raiders again.

@ K.C.  Possibly playing for home field.  Chiefs win if healthy.

@ SAN  Oak has played well on the road.  Should win here.

BAL  Ravens fighting for a playoff spot.  Tough game but favor Raiders

@ DEN  Payback time and the Donks need this one.

  Final record 11-5

KC:  @ CAR  Chalk this one up as a loss and hope to get lucky.  Need to heal up.

TPA  Gotta win this one at home to avoid a disastrous third quarter.

@ DEN  Tough to win although they did it last year.

@ ATL  Julio Jones against Gaines?  Enough said.  Third quarter of season has 3 losses on road.

OAK  Chiefs sweep to gain tie breaker

TENN  Playing in Arrowhead should be enough to win

DEN   Home crowd pulls Chiefs to a split with the Donks.

@ SAN  Chargers are out of it by now and Chiefs need it more.

  Final record  11-5

Summary:  Chiefs can't slip up when they're favorites or they'll be another wild card.  If they somehow finish the third quarter 2-2 instead of 1-3 they'll be in great shape.  Play like yesterday, and they'll be scrambling to make the playoffs at all.  10-6 will probably make the playoffs.

Okay, fire away.

The Chiefs are bringing in a lot of players. They added a bunch to their practice team. Justin Houston was added back the very last day they could bring him back. Jamaal Charles is on IR, and probably can return after 8 games.

There remain a lot of questions. If returning players play at their peak, and the other players remain healthy, then they will be in the mix. If the opposite happens, they will have trouble.

The Chiefs probably need four wins out of the final eight games to get into the playoffs. How far they go will depend upon health.

FYI...Oakland has already played Bal. That should be IND.

If those 4 wins have at least three against AFC West Teams. Otherwise?
