We should thank his brother. He really stepped up, and got him thinking KC would be a good place to play. Geoff had one half of one good year in KC. He took that to get a better contract, in NY. He suffered two injury plagued seasons, and was cut. Schwartz remained friends with a few of the fans, and some of the players. The Schwartz brothers were from Los Angeles. Geoff went to Oregon. He was a 7th round pick for Carolina. He got waived, and was added to the practice team. Geoff improved, and made the squad, starting 3 games in 2009, at RT. The following season, he started at RT and RG the entire season. He was slotted to be the starting RG for 2011, but hurt both hips in practice. He had to have hip surgery, which is generally the end of a sports career. Schwartz got a call from the Vikings, who were desperate for OL. He played some RT, and some RG. He did well enough to show he could still play. However, Minnesota wanted to move on. Geoff got a shot to play for KC, and signed a one year deal that would have paid near league minimum, had he not made the incentives. Schwartz did well, and the Giants gave him a three year deal with the Giants. He moved on to Detroit after two injury plagued seasons. Detroit would release Geoff Schwartz at the end of preseason.

Schwartz had a pod cast, and promoted it through Twitter. His brother's contract was up, and Geoff thought Cleveland would surely extend his contract. After all his brother was the top rated right guard. However, Cleveland was in a cost cutting move, and Mitchell hit the street. His agent thought he would be worth a huge contract. There wasn't as much interest was originally thought. I asked Geoff about Mitchell coming to KC. He tweeted back the Chiefs just signed Jah Reid, so probably wouldn't happen. Only a few teams considered Mitch, and not at the price his agent originally wanted. Geoff helped sell Mitchell on moving to Kansas City. Mitchell Scwartz has one of the highest paid contracts for a RT in the NFL, but it was written in a way that benefits the Chiefs.

Mich Schwartz is one of the reasons the Chiefs have done well this season. If not for the injury to LG, Parker Ehinger, the Chiefs might have developed into one of the top ten lines in the league. That loss put a lot of pressure on Eric Fisher, and the OL struggled. Mitchell Schwartz has been steady all season. Fulton seems to be the weak spot, but they are melding.

I have consistent conversations with Geoff

Yep, good signing.  Let's hope the Chiefs can get Ehinger back next season and keep this line in tact for a while.  They still need to get the line that has enough push to make a half yard on the goal line.  Of course, they could just have Poe pass it over the D's heads.
