SEMO 6,811
I actually do believe in Conley. Receivers arent the problem. What makes you think he can't be that guy? Whether Smith or Foles starts we need another RB , ILB, and OLB help. The running game needs to be improved as well as the run defense - giving up 170 yards in the playoffs is a slap in the face. These games are won in the trenches we got beat up front all night. Secondary, is stacked even if we lose Sorenson - Murray can fill in as a nice replacement. I would take Mike Williams out of Clemson in a heartbeat. He will be gone though. If we keep rolling with Alex, Williams would be a great weapon. Highpoints the ball better than anyone I have seen in a long time.

His route running leaves a lot to be desired. You have to be an excellent route runner if you're going to be a good WR in this offense.

PhataLerror 370
Dude... That is a ridiculous statement... Alex Smith doesn't even look past 15 yards, Big Ben is one of the most prolific players in the NFL, as much of a douche as he probably is personally, the guy is great at playing QB. Did you even watch the game? Ben Roethlisberger played the game-managery game. Smith was the one tasked with converting third-and-longs through the air after his receivers were dropping balls or drawing Personal Fouls. PhataLerror 370
So why does the Chiefs continue to go down the same road when everyone i mean EVERYONE knows the outcome. Its like they are the only ones that dont see it.. Its mind boggling. I wouldn't even care if we sucked but we at least tried to draft a QB of the Future. One the Chiefs could call their own for the next 10 -15 years. kcxiv votes for: Quarterbacks the Chiefs drafted: Player GS Rec Pct All 142 57-84-1 0.405 Todd Blackledge 25 13-12-0 0.520 Mike Livingston 75 31-43-1 0.420 Steve Fuller 31 13-18-0 0.419 Doug Hudson 1 0-1-0 0.000 Brodie Croyle 10 0-10-0 0.000 PhataLerror votes for: Quarterbacks the Chiefs acquired otherwise: All 667 354-306-7 0.536 Nick Foles 1 1-0-0 1.000 Kyle Orton 3 2-1-0 0.667 Steve Bono 32 21-11-0 0.656 Joe Montana 29 19-10-0 0.655 Alex Smith 65 42-23-0 0.646 Len Dawson 111 68-38-5 0.635 Dave Krieg 22 13-9-0 0.591 Steve DeBerg 55 32-22-1 0.591 Rich Gannon 19 11-8-0 0.579 Elvis Grbac 48 26-22-0 0.542 Trent Green 90 48-42-0 0.533 Chase Daniel 2 1-1-0 0.500 Steve Pelluer 3 1-1-1 0.500 Jacky Lee 2 1-1-0 0.500 Damon Huard 21 10-11-0 0.476 Bill Kenney 77 34-43-0 0.442 Matt Cassel 48 19-29-0 0.396 Ron Jaworski 3 1-2-0 0.333 Tyler Palko 4 1-3-0 0.250 Tony Adams 7 1-6-0 0.143 Brady Quinn 8 1-7-0 0.125 Tyler Thigpen 11 1-10-0 0.091 Frank Seurer 2 0-2-0 0.000 Mark Vlasic 1 0-1-0 0.000 Warren Moon 1 0-1-0 0.000 Mark Stevens 2 0-2-0 0.000 *All results from 1966 through 2016

Would you like to go back and check the playoff winning % for the above? I mean for the ones that actually made the playoffs? You don't need to post it. Chiefs fans already know. Make it easy and just go back to the last time we won any game with a drafted QB. We were fortunate to get Montana because the 9ers had a younger HOF QB. We got Smith because the 9ers had Kaepernick. Get em next year boys, for another almost. Next year we can maybe beat Ben or Brady.. its gotta happen sooner or later right? /sarcasm.
PhataLerror 370
Here's another interesting bit: GS Rec Pct PS Rec PS Pct SB Rec SB Pct Acquired 11601 5924-5605-72 0.514 283-256-0 0.525 32-29-0 0.525 Drafted by Team 988 482-497-9 0.492 9-20-0 0.310 0-0-0 Undrafted Free Agent First Signed by Team 1531 747-781-3 0.489 29-35-0 0.453 2-3-0 0.400 Undrafted Free Agent First Signed by Other 9712 4679-4949-84 0.486 164-174-0 0.485 16-18-0 0.471 Drafted by Other (There aren't enough good formatting tools here.) For all the clamoring over this concept that drafting a quarterback is the best path to winning a Super Bowl, these numbers sure make it look like there is no correlation between drafting a quarterback and winning a Super Bowl.
