The Chiefs will have to replace Berry in three years, and probably be forced to pay too much for Parker or let him walk. He has the Chiefs taking Cordrea Tankersley - CB, Clemson in the 2nd round. Kareem Hunt - RB, Toledo, and Jalen Reeves-Maybin LB, Tennessee in the 3rd round. They could do a lot worse.

I don't lile his instincts and that's not the type of player I'd want as my last line of Defense in my Defense. I think he would be better with the ball in his hands and I wouldn't take a project like that on with an early choice.

eraser 722
Some of these big school phenoms turn out to busts. Later rounds can produce great NFL players as well. I take all of this with a grain of salt. The film is the best we have to go on, and there is only so much. Plus, teams have ways of covering for deficiencies. Players get prodded, poked, and measured in every way. They speak to grade school teachers, neighbors, friends, and people they may have met in a mall one time. The amount of snooping is amazing. If a player wants to be drafted, he has to sign a release. It isn't anything illegal. Teams are investing millions of dollars on players, and staff. Probably north of a quarter billion bucks per year. So, it is reasonable they want to do everything they can to eliminate the risks. Still, even with all of that, they miss. They miss a lot. He has some of Charles' qualities. Jamaal ran a 4.38. This dude goes 4.5. Charles had better anticipation, and vision. Cook is bigger.
liquidfriend 1,151
Dorsey or Reid don't have the history of drafting a RB in the first round. Wouldn't count on it starting this year.

eraser 722
Zay Jones is a slight upgrade of Chris Conley. I don't see that as a need, and I don't think Jones is a great replacement. Jarrad Davis is being mentioned.

Jarrad Davis is being mentioned. We have so much ammunition with the compensatory picks. I could see us trading down for a guy like Davis like we did with Chris Jones last year if we can't find what we want at 27.

I think it is very likely the Chiefs will try to work the draft, and there will probably be teams willing to move up. There isn't usually much talent after the middle of the first round. I'm not saying players can't be found in the third. Indeed, some like Justin Houston, Jared Allen, and Jamaal Charles fell to the third. If you look at probowl players, they tend to be high first round draft selections. We aren't in a position to get one of those. Plus, this draft is uniquely deep. Also, having us take Kaaya in the 2nd. Kaaya is interesting. He has a good arm, but he moves like he is wearing lead boots. In the right system, he could be decent. I see some mocks dropping Hassan Riddick to the Chiefs. That could work. He is flexible enough to play both MLB positions, and OLB. There is going to be someone for the Chiefs to draft, who will be a dependable starter. This isn't the same crew that drafted Jonathan Baldwin. eraser 722
I just looked at the pertinent numbers, and T J Watt's overall measurements are superior to Hassan Reddick. Reddick seems a bit more athletic, but it is not overwhelmingly so. Am I discounting T J Watt's ability in this draft? Watt can play all three spots. liquidfriend 1,151
Zay Jones isn't a bad prospect, but taking him late first is a good long reach and you're drafting pieces for a QB you're really not committed to in the slightest after 2017. Doesn't make any sense. He's not really going to change much for the immediate as Alex will still be a 3500yds/15TD range passer. As for Reddick, I think he's going to go before the Chiefs are on the board. I just looked at the pertinent numbers, and T J Watt's overall measurements are superior to Hassan Reddick. They would consider Reddick more of a "twitchy" athlete than Watt.
