Chiefs Sign DB Marqueston Huff

This is what the Chiefs are good at, they find talent that has not yet been developed, and develop it. Quest is a quick, fast defensive back, who has good ball skills, despite small hands. He played three seasons at Wyoming before being drafted in the 4th round by Tennessee. He was suspended one game for substance abuse, and released. The Jags picked him up on their practice team, and Baltimore signed him onto their 53 man squad late in October.

The Chiefs will either decide he is not worth their efforts, and release him after their camp is over, or place him on their practice team. He is not ready to play at the NFL level, IMO. However, he is worthy of a look, and may be someone the Chiefs can develop.

I really like the fact that Dorsey constantly is churning the roster.  Because he is a good talent evaluator, the long term effect is a improving roster with a lot of depth. Not every newcomer pans out, of course, but over time, the team gets better and better. Not just the starters, but the depth. That's what "competition" really looks like, not just talk like some teams do.

You are no better than the worst guy on the team.

If the worst guy on the team never plays, it really doesn't matter. Team depth is important when players get injured. KC may have the deepest team in the NFL.

  1. Lots of key injuries
  2. Lack of excellence at key starting positions

Other than that, they were pretty good.

Upgraded depth needed at OL, DL, LILB (as long as DJ is healthy) QB

Upgraded starters needed at QB, RB, RWR, RILB, LG
