Chiefsfan1963 1,101 Posted April 26, 2017 Share Posted April 26, 2017 I personally don't like this, not because it's the Raiders or even because the Chiefs will face him twice a year (personally I don't think he will be a major factor) but because it sets a bad precedent. Now any player who wishes to leave a team and doesn't mind sitting out a year, by saying they are retired, can do so and even possibly get paid to do so. Chiefsfan1963 1,101 Posted April 26, 2017 Author Share Posted April 26, 2017 That's the rub, a year or so ago they would have wanted much more for him but when he retired it left Seattle on the hook for some money. Then Oakland comes calling, since he is retired it's not considered tampering, and he says sure I will come back which put Seattle on the hook for his contract unless a trade is worked out.
