kcchief4lif 910 Posted October 19, 2017 Share Posted October 19, 2017 There’s no time to wait around to see if Navorro Bowman can ease his way into the Raiders’ defense. The veteran former All Pro middle linebacker signed with the team Monday and just four days later his head coach is ready to see what he’s got. “He’s looked good,” said Jack Del Rio Wednesday. “He’s a veteran. He understands ball. We’ve not tried to install the entire playbook, but specific game plans and things. He’s had a good week. Even though it’s a short week, we feel good and he’ll play.” How much time he sees is still in question. Currently the Raiders have three linebackers questionable for the game — Marquel Lee, Cory James, and Nicholas Morrow. Lee seems least likely to suit up considering he was carted off the field with what appeared to be a serious ankle injury just two weeks ago. When Lee was healthy, he started, but usually saw less time than his fellow inside linebackers. He would see between 30-40% of the snaps splitting time with undrafted rookie Morrow. That would be a pretty good percentage to see Bowman on such short notice. Terminology and scheme are the only areas Bowman must get up to speed.
