What changes would you make to the defence moving forward?

Recommended Posts

Well, the coaches have eleven days to decide what to do now. Do they stick with the same guys or give someone else a try? Do they bring back Ramik Wilson? Hali? Give Kpass a start at Inside Linebacker? Does Ragland get more snaps? Should Ehinger finally make an appearance?

And how do you think LDT and Morse's return will affect the defence? Erving could then move to tackle too. And let's not forget that Nelson will be eligible to come back after the Denver game, so that would potentially mean we see less of Gaines.

Secondary is Swiss Cheese.  The Chiefs need to acquire a QUALITY CB & Safety (to replace Berry).  Also, inside LB and/or DL who can stop the run.  Another WR would also be nice.

Stop playing Sorensen so much, and under no circumstances play him as a run stopping LB on passing downs.  Play a LB in that role.  Stop using 3 safeties so much.   Maybe give Terell a shot at SS, since Sorensen sucks, and Murray is struggling?   Send a CB blitz once in a while, and some safety blitzes.  Bench DJ and play a combo of Ragland, Wilson, KPL, and Eligwe, until some combo stands out.  Let Tanoh get some snaps at both OLB and the DL to see if he can generate some pressure.  Let Nunez Rochez play more.

I think when all the normal starters return, that will make a huge difference.

STEVIN NELSON replacing Phillip Gaines at CB will be huge. Gaines is painful to watch and has horrible technique in always trying to tackle the WR than play the ball.

TAMBA HALI getting more snaps to help keep Dee Ford fresh as well as Hali's experience may help him get some key sacks.

CHARCANDRICK WEST backing up Kareem Hunt is also key. C.J. Spiller is just not that great. He's average or below average in just about every facet of his position. I definitely see why the Chiefs keep releasing him.

MITCH MORSE although smaller than Zach Fulton, who can hold his own better but every game has a few bad snaps that end up coming in bad times that completely destroy the play. Morse is just better at snapping the ball and Alex is likely more used to his play.

LAURENT DEVERNAY-TARDIFF is just much better than Cameron Erving. Everything from stopping his opponent from getting to the QB or just mauling them on run plays, LDT is just the smarter player who commits less penalties and more athletic overall.

RAMIK WILSON seemed like he is the better ILB to play in terms of stopping the run. It just is very apparent that the LBing play is pretty poor overall. It seems like it's always the Safeties that have to make the stop if the RB gets back the D-Line.

PARKER EHINGER is a much better LG than Bryan Witzmann. Witzmann is always getting pushed back and is just less than average as a LG. Not to mention how many penalties he gets called on him that either take back big plays or kill drives.
