dksww 484
Sutton can improve it himself if he just realizes this soft zone crap isn't working. They need to be more aggressive.
oldtimer 8,687
we are not getting any body "new" this year so there has to be a so revaluation of the status quo from Clark on down
Lamardirts 2,114
The reason why this D isn't working is because its completely predicated on 4 men creating pressure. The Oakland Oline is good but we didn't register one sack and I don't remember us blitzing once. Our secondary was built for press man coverage and would succeed if our rushers would ever get home. Ford is a one trick pony and I think its safe to say he is what he is. Houston is being used inefficiently, but I'm not ready to say he's done and washed up. He can be doubled teamed because no one on the line requires more than one lineman. We all know Sutton isn't going anywhere if its left up to Andy Reid. He is loyal to a fault eerily similar to Dick Vermiel. However, if this continues with the amount of money we are spending on that side of the ball then Hunt might force his hands. To answer your question, absolutely Wade Phillips would make this unit better. No doubt about it. We played safe last night and they piled up 400 yards in the air. At what point to you pin your ears back because playing it safe isn't working.
soonerborn77 276
just wondering . Our Dends aren't the Bronco Dends. He wasn't as predictable as Sutton is, you heard Romo during the broadcast basically calling out the two things we were doing Watch the safeties, if they stay split it's cover 2 and attack the middle, if one moves up it is single high and attack outside the numbers If Romo is doing this from the booth, you know every QB coach and offensive coordinator is preaching this in practice all week. Biggjliv4 1,292
Hell yeah Wade makes a difference. He gets the most from his players and attacks. None of this bend and don't break BS. He actually game plans and his opponents fear his D and they leave hurting from how physical ho's guys play
SEMO 6,811
I have to agree. Seems like Sutton doesn’t have opponent specific game plans. He just rolls out the same old rush 3 and cover BS.

This. Fucking exactly this. Romo was basically calling out our defenses and telling us as laymen how to exploit them the entire 4th quarter. This is why Suttons refusal to adjust, move players around for matchup advantages, and refusal to bring any pressure (even when our line isn't getting there) is so damn frustrating. Why does he insist on being so predictable? Why wont the guy make schematic adjustments? The league is adjusting to him. He refuses to do likewise. It's so simple teams easily know what to do. It's a complete mismanagement of the talent they have as well.
