Stats that sum up the impact of Peters!!!

Recommended Posts

This isn’t surprising as the rest of the Chiefs secondary has been abysmal. According to PFF, however, Peters has been only average this year, grading out as the 41st best CB thus far. No doubt he was much better in 2015 and 2016.

The bigger issue for Peters seems to be his inability to control himself. It’s obvious that losing has gotten to him, but he needs to understand that if he does something stupid on the field that hurts his team, they’ll be consequences for his actions. Despite this type of behavior becoming more of a pattern for Peters, he’s faced no such discipline. That needs to change. As a result, Reid should sit him for at least a game. If Peters is becoming detrimental to the team that’s a completely different thing. Thus far we haven’t seen any reports of that.

Peters actions never cost us the game though. So why should he be punished? He made a mistake, just like Kelce did and he was not forced to sit for a game. We're playing to division rivals in our next two fixtures, Reid would be absolutely nuts to sit Peters, and any fan calling for such action apparently cares more about punishing Peters, than they do about the team's chances of making the playoffs.

He should be punished because he has a pattern of this type of behavior going back to his college days, and his head coach needs to nip it in the bud. Problem is that this defense is already so bad that removing him would be catastrophic.

Comparing Peters to Kelce isn’t apples to apples, however. While Kelce has done some dumb shit, he’s never thrown a flag from an official into the stands and then walked into the locker room. It would seem that Peters has understandably grown increasingly frustrated from losing. But Reid needs to get control of his locker room, and if it means suspending him for a game, so be it.

It’s being reported that Reid is considering suspending him.

Getting Eric Berry back next season will help Peters as much as anyone. And its next offseason we need to make a decision on Peters before we lose club control after the 2019 season.

I'd bet top dollar that Reid ain't gonna do a damn thing. A fine might happen, but he ain't sitting no-one.

No, the reason why it's in "disarray" is because some of the players, and coaches, aren't good enough. Nothing to do with Peters.

The problems with this team go beyond talent. Even teams short on talent can be competitive and win games if they’re disciplined. There is a serious lack of discipline, and it’s not just Peters, although he seems to be the one with the biggest problem. Penalties as the result of effort are easily lived with , but this team doesn’t get effort penalties, it gets stupid penalties. Even the games in which we’ve won, they haven’t been “clean” games. This team is reminiscent of the old raider way.

Without digging into penalties for each game my memory agrees with this.

This team is broken.

HC finally stopped calling the plays....but..

Oline is soft.

D Line gets no push or penetration

LB's not named Houston or Ragland are OLD and worn out or Horrible.

DB's not named Peters or Berry are horrible.

Bob Sutton needs to retire....

man o man

directly no, peter's actions have not cost us a game..

indirectly the answer is yes due to his reluctance to tackle, which allows receivers or rb's to get more yardage than they would have

I think he is a knucklehead and would not mind if the chiefs could get some picks for him in the offseason, he isn't worth the headache

yesterday 610 said Houston has 10 tackles and 1 sack in his last four games, that hurts us

You can't blame Peters for the scheme he plays in, but the fact that he always plays left cornerback probably skews his stats a little bit. People exploit our other side and let him defend #2 and #3 receivers. Bailey, Revis, those guys cover the #1 receiver no matter the side.

My gripe with Peters is if his on field antics remain immature he likely doesn’t take other things seriously. He probably doesn’t study the game enough, practice hard enough, or put full effort in often enough. His lack of tackling is enough for me to say don’t pay him huge money he will try to get. He gets away on his athleticism, which will fade in a year or two, and his lack of effort and well rounding his game will watch him drop off a cliff.

The players I hate most in the NFL are the divas and guys who think swag or street cred is more important than the team. Peters fits that in my mind. Kelce almost does as well, and I got real tired his his yammering with refs and getting flags earlier this year. He cut it out, but if he goes back to it, I am fine dumping him at some point too.

I think Andy relies on having a locker room which polices itself in some ways and leadership on the field to real in teammates. The offense is up and down because the oline is a finesse group and the QB is solid but with limits. But that group isn't much different in terms of effort and discipline because Alex is a leader.

Defensively however the loss of Berry was enormous. And Tamba is another locker room icon who's played in only two games. And with DJ now playing part time you basically have lost the three core leaders. And now you have real tangible discipline and potentially effort issues as players are not dealing with adversity well.

Again Andys record suggests after seasons like this he will fix this. But that clearly means bringing in some leadership type players and even a disciplinarian coach or two. Theres no reason to panic here into something silly like firing a coach who's never had back to back losing seasons in 18 years as a coach. But I think there probably is some credence here to your thought process that this isn't all about talent.

All that said Tamba will play on Sunday and I expect him to be boisterous leader. I'd like to see Eric Berry is in the locker room talking with passion to this defense. It cannot hurt. They are indeed a wounded unit, but if they actually play with heart we do have a shot on Sunday.

May he forever be a Chief. Anyone who has a problem with him has a problem with me. The kid balls, and we need a shutdown corner.

If he were to leave, we'd be begging for a replacement that doesn't exist and be fucked for the Mahomes era. No thanks.

That flag throw, who really cares? The play was already completed. He thought he was ejected, which is why he left. He's our Richard Sherman, the kid competes. He may have an attitude problem, but as long as he's focused and making plays, he's golden.
