Eagles, Browns so typical

Recommended Posts

Because, Chiefs.

If Philly wins a super bowl this year or next coupled with any success Dorsey has rebuilding the Browns is really going to make the Chiefs look stupid.

Doug Pederson leaving and trading up for Wentz and being a Super Bowl contender in year 2 already makes us look inept.

With how it goes for the Chiefs I fully expect Philly to win a super bowl and for Cleveland to find a franchise qb before kc and Mahomes so much as even go 9-7 in a season.

Just so so typical.

Dude stop. Dorsey was so overrated here. Jesus man. The team he built has A LOT of holes. Imagine if we hadn't fired him and gotten Reggie Ragland and KPL?

I will say this again. His 2014 draft was horrible and he was only successful bc players he inherited were very good and Andy's coaching staff covered up the rest.

Jamaal Charles in his prime

Justin Houston in his prime

DJ in his prime

Eric Berry in his prime

Tamba Hali was the Tamba of old pre-knee injury

Dontari Poe pre back injury

Dustin Colquitt

These players are why we were good. Dorsey found some good players, but he didn't have to build the core of the team.

Every player you mentioned missed a ton of time in the last five years with the exception of the punter. The pieces you’re claiming haven’t been able to stay on the field.

Agree. Those stupid because Chiefs posts are just pointless drivel. Are we not in CAP hell because Dorsey overpaid so many regressing or injury plagued veterans. And is that not a huge reason for our current issues. And now Mahomes isn't going to be a winner. Laughable.

I don’t believe in the because chiefs nonsense at all. I just don’t agree with the notion that Dorsey is wholly responsible for this mess. He was the fall guy no doubt, but when the coach is hired a week before the gm it doesn’t take a genius to know that the gm isn’t calling all the shots.

He gave Bowe a horrendous contract. Then gave Tamba a horrendous contract. Then drafted a bust 3rd rd pick that he cut like 2 months after picking him. Then he waited to extend Berry costing more.

Good God man wake up. He wasn't doing his job.

I never said he didn’t make mistakes. I said he wasn’t unilaterally making decisions. Reid deserves blame as well. In Cleveland we will see how he does when he’s the sole man running the show. Time will tell

I’ll say it. Mahomes will be in the chiefs ring of honor in 20 years, and be the first true homegrown franchise qb this franchise has ever had. He’ll win a minimum of 100 games as a chief and at least appear in the afc championship game. I’m not going to go as far as canton , but the next 10-13 years are pretty damn bright, barring injury or a fluke Derrick Thomas / joe Delaney event.

One man is rarely the one to praise or blame for success and those rare situations are only valid for the owner. The rest all contribute at a certain level. Dorsey was good at finding depth talent and had nice waiver pickups. He also had great picks as well as terrible ones. Overall I wouldn't consider him a draft genius. He was terrible in contracts but his predecessor was basically a thief in that area that's why comparison doesn't look for Dorsey.

I agree Andy deserves most credit and blame for anything that happens here because he's clearly in charge. He likely wasn't involved directly in these contracts though. Just bad deals by Dorsey who would be smart to hire a CAP/moneyball type guy to get deals done in Cleveland just as Andy needs a clock management specialist.

We just overpaid player after player after player when you really look st it. They have so much CAP space and so many draft picks there it will allow him to do what he does best and just play the head scout role.

Agreed. I think Andy likely told Dorsey “I want to keep these guys, get it done”. Dorsey is absolutely on the hook for the bad contracts but I still contend that odds are he was over a barrel in terms of negotiating because Reid wanted the guys to stay. You have to be prepared to walk away when negotiating and I just question whether he really could.

Because it's the Chiefs. I mean you claim to never expect this team to ever win a super bowl so why should any of us think it'll be any different with Mahomes?

Plain silly. Andy has proven he knows he to evaluate and develop QBs. I can't wait for the Mahomes era, Your perogsative to write him off before he even starts. Just doesn't make our fan base look very smart but whatever.

What can any GM do with Andy Reid?  Reid wants power but isn't a Super Bowl winning HC.  The Chiefs should eat the contract and move on after this season.  He never should have been given an extension, no one was beating down his door to steal him away from KC.

And when was the last time anything like this ever worked out in the Chiefs' favor?

Never.

Eh, you're only half right. If Andy Reid would've been let go last year hr wouldve found a job immediately including in Denver
