Chiefswinitall 60
Mellinger on 810 said they simplified a bunch of the blocks. Thats why they played well. Some on the Oline can't do the complicated blocking schemes. http://www.810whb.com/border-patrol-podcast/ Podcasts https://omny.fm/shows/the-border-patrol/playlists/podcast/embed Ok. qnet 1,150
I remember Bellchik agreeing with Jimmy Johnson about needing to have smart players to be successful. I'm wondering if the Chiefs players were smart enough to understand the complicated blocking schemes would they be more successful or does it matter. I'm honestly curious. If making something complicated just for the sake of making is complicated does not make the team perform better, than that's stupid IMO.

Mloe68 1,521
Makes perfect sense. Mentality was think less and just go physically beat the guy in front of you. It helped. Yesterday's game was about an attitude we haven't had in weeks.

Lamardirts 2,114
Over thinking can relegate great talent to avg and avg to poor. Complicated is something that starts with the HC and "if" this is the reason should have been figured out weeks ago. Seems like overall our team is playing way better now that Andy is overseeing more and play calling less. Good execution can trump better talent many times, poor execution can cripple a team with more talent.
