Your right, allowing every dlineman through so you can attempt a screen pass is just as safe. We have happy feet back there who looks great with protection but looks crappy when pressured so yes we would have better luck based on the first 2 TD drives dropping back and throwing deep than trying those sorry screens that I'm sure every team in the league is prepared for vs us.
