2018 Chiefs Offseason

Trade:

Alex Smith – Buffalo for a 2018 2nd and 2019 4th.

Retire:

Tamba Hali

Cut:

Derrick Johnson

Akeem Hunt

Ross Travis

ReSign:

Anthony Sherman (2yr/2MM)

Albert Wilson (3yr/7MM)

Zach Fulton (3yr/14.5MM)

Kevin Pierre-Louis (1yr/1MM)

Dustin Colquitt (3yr/4.5MM)

Sign:

Sheldon Richardson (4yr/40MM)

Matt Moore (2yr/5MM) note: Chase Daniel is an option again. I think he will want too much money.

EJ Gaines (3yr/15MM) note: Trumaine Johnson should be the top target here. Can KC afford to give him around 15MM per year when they will have to pay Peters north of that after next year?

Justin Ellis (4yr/13MM)

Draft:

2 – R.J. McIntosh, DE/DT, Miami 6'4" 293lbs

2 – Darius Leonard, LB, South Carolina State 6'3" 235lbs

3 - Troy Fumagalli, TE, Wisconsin 6'6" 248lbs

4 - Kevin Toliver, CB, LSU 6'2" 193lbs

6 -Jaylon Ferguson, EDGE, Louisiana Tech 6'5" 255lbs

I really like McIntosh a lot and he'd be a great add to the DL. I do have a suspicion he goes in the 1st.

Troy Fumagalli, I don't care much for. I think he has some Harris in him. I don't think a back up TE would be my priority in Day 2, either.

After that.

I think Chase Daniel can be had at a decent price. He made less than 1 mil with the Saints.

I think it'll take 4yr/45m to wrestle away big Sheldon.

EJ Gaines, while I liked him a hell of a lot coming out of MU into the draft, is a major risk and I wouldn't want to be the team.

I likw Toliver and I don't think you need Gaines at all if you land him.

Instead of Frazier I would go with Lorenzo Carter from Georgia. He has played OLB in their 3-4 system. At 6'5"255 he would be good to pair with Kpass on the right side opposite Houston

I considered him but he will likely be gone by then.

I'd be fairly surprised if they prioritized a back up Tight End over an edge rusher and Averett is pretty meh

Frazier is probably more of a 5-6th rounder. I question the upside.

Disagree. With Fraziers size, 4th is probably his wheelhouse. I think he might be better for a 43 though. I never saw him drop once in college so he'll need to show some agility at the combine if he wants to get the 34 teams interested.

Chad Henne (2yr/6.7MM)

Draft:

2 – (from Indianapolis) Justin Reid S Stanford

(Trade picks 54 and 76 to Indianapolis for pick 37)

Ball hawking safety who will pair nicely with Berry. Too much talent to be there at 54, so trade up with Indy to get him.

3 – (from Washington) - Isaac Yiadom CB Boston College

Long corner, can play press or zone.

4 – Kendrick Norton DT Miami

He is a run stuffer who eats up blocks. It’s all you need from a 2 down lineman.

4 - (from LA Rams) – Tony Adams G NC State

Compact frame. Good footwork and blocks well in space. Potential starter, depth at the very least.

6 (comp) –Kalen Ballage RB Arizona State

Height/weight/speed prospect who can also return kicks. Raw and lacks vision. Needs coached up and could be enough to get West released.

7 – Kurt Benkert QB Virginia

Tyler Bray 2.0. Big arm with 0 awaremess. Project for Andy.

7 – Kahlil McKenzie DT Tennessee

Project who has the size you look for in a 5-tech. Good strength, but slow off of the snap. There is something there to work with, if they can get it out of him.

I don't know why the nfl.com site is lieing but here outs his combine measurements.

6'2 6/8"

31 1/2" arms http://www.draftscout.com/members/ratings/profile.php?pyid=1002662&draftyear=2018&genpos=DT

Must be a typo on NFL.com. All other measurements are correct. Hes just 6'3" rather than 6'5". Those are really short arms for a 5 tech. You are right.

I like him as a late round NT option though. Very thick guy. Especially in his lower half. Had the body to develop into a good NT
