It would be STUPID to neglect our Offense this offseason!!!

Wyatt has the height and length that Andy lines in his lineman.

As a highly recruited defensive end he has very good feet and athleticism. He does fit or system but brings a nastiness that we need

He needs to be in a power blocking system. Had some dropoff this year that he'll need to splain as well.

Sean Welsh can play guard or center as can Boettger who played st but can slide inside. Both come from Iowa who play a nfl style pull scheme. I would say around 5th round. Welsh wouo d need to out on 15 pounds but Boettger is at 307 already. Seth Myers is a guard at 310 pounds also is worth a look around 6th round. Myers and Boettger had injuries their senior year that will drop them as both probably were 3rd or 4th round talents. I would give them hard looks because of their scheme played at Iowa, their coaches who taught o line in the NFL and how others have done coming out of Iowa.

NFL mock draft 2018: Chiefs grab wide receiver Anthony Miller with first pick Could the Kansas City Chiefs really focus on offense first and foremost in the upcoming draft? One mock draft believes the Chiefs go wideout in Round 2.

If you’re taking stock of the Kansas City Chiefs roster needs at this stage, the overwhelming amount of attention should be given to the defense. The Chiefs are not only set to lose several players to free agency, but they also must replace aging stars as well as bolster weaknesses.

Despite the fact that there’s not a single level of the defense that the front office should feel secure about, the latest mock draft from Eddie Brown of the San Diego Union-Tribune has the Chiefs going offense first and foremost. The Chiefs lack a first round pick in the draft thanks to their trade up in 2017 for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, which means their first overall selection is in the second round. Brown has the Chiefs using it to take wide receiver Anthony Miller.

Miller is a proven product, at least in Conference USA, at the University of Memphis where he has put up stellar stats for the last two seasons. He broke out as a junior with 95 catches for 1,434 yard and 14 receiving touchdowns. If that’s not enough, he returned for another year and nearly matched each of those numbers with 96 catches, 1462 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Miller is another smallish receiver at 5’11, which means the Chiefs will continue to lack a large end zone target if they select him. That said, perhaps Brown mocked Miller to the Chiefs simply because the talent on the board at that point is too much to pass up for a general manager like Brett Veach.

Even if there are holes on the defense to address, Miller’s presence on the offensive would make an already high-powered unit even more effective. Imagine a defense that has to account for Tyreek Hill and Miller on the outside with Travis Kelce creating mismatches up the seam and Kareem Hunt and Spencer Ware out of the backfield. That’s not even including Chris Conley who is an athletic marvel waiting to break out, emerging wideout DeMarcus Robinson or other young prospects like Jehu Chesson and Marcus Kemp.

Of course, all of this is a pipe dream since this is a mock draft months before the actual event that focuses on the wrong side of the ball. But with the Chiefs or not, Miller is going to be a very fun prospect to watch turn heads in the pros.

I just don't see receiver as a priority for this offense and here is why...Patrick Mahomes. When he was in college one of his strengths was that he spread the ball around. Unlike Alex he doesn't have to have 1 or 2 "go to" guys to be successful. In his short time in preseason and week 17 he did more with Robinson and Wilson than AS ever did. Also I thought Conley was way underutilized for his skill set. Anyone remember Conley's combine numbers? The guy is amazingly athletic. He has size, speed and great leaping ability which for the most part has been wasted up until now. Let Mahomes have a crack at him.

Definitely agree about upgrading the TE #2 spot. As far as LG....my concern is that KC has already poured a ton of money into the Oline. Who could we get that is good that we wouldn't have to pay a lot for?

Understand your point, but we our WR group is just awful in the red zone and I doubt that changes that much with Mahomes. It's a bunch of undersized guys flanked by a WR with 1 career TD. I personally think its a huge priority. Go get a WR who can win the jump balls and take advantage of an aggressive QB. We were one of the worst red zone passing teams in the NFL last season. Part of that is because we had a conservative QB, but that's only part of the story.

While I do think WR is a need I don't think it'll be a draft priority since it'll be taken care of sooner. There's a huge FA class and we have some cash to spend while some defensive needs (like DB) is very shallow in FA. Also I doubt Reid will want to add yet another proven youngster to the already young WR group, he should be aware of how Maclin helped improve our youngsters and we'll probably look for someone similar.
