Dablueguy 0
Not if there’s locker room problems. There are times where there is a such thing as addition by subtraction. Now I can’t say for certain if that’s the case here , but the apparent lack of suitors can’t be ignored. Market value of any commodity is based on what the market is willing to pay, not what the seller thinks it’s worth. A player not liking a Coach, or Vice versa isn't a big deal. According to Terez, Marcus was well liked in the locker room by other players. Sure it can. We had Marcus for 3 years cheap, no matter what. Non West Coast teams might not want to give up draft compensation for that privilege, if he wanted to be out West, but we didn't have to, we already had him. There was no urgency to do this. Worst case scenario, you have an immensely talented player very cheap for 3 years, and then, when he's a diminished player, on the way down, you get a comp pick for him. And hopefully deep playoff runs in those years. If you have a valuable commodity that you put up for sale, but you don't have to sell, do you just take whatever is offered? kkuenn 3,597
Could be no 1st THIS YEAR. 3rd + 4th this year, 1st + 2nd next year lol I wish. Then see the Rams tank next year.
kychief 239
Two 3rds is my fear Yea I'm afraid the 3rds will be the valuable picks with a 4th and 5th tacked on either this year or next..

If the commodity is causing in house problems, getting something while solving the problem could be considered valuable. I’m not saying he was or wasn’t a problem, I’m simply speculating just like everyone else. It’s very possible that we may never have a clear picture as to why, but not knowing for sure doesn’t make it so, one way or the other.
Sonder 47
Why are you calling him a lunatic? What has he done that makes him deserve such a tag?He got thrown off his college team and now an NFL felt the same way. Or do you want to deal with this guy next year when he boils over and takes a swing at a coach?
Shadow 10
Terez is intimating that Andy chose between Peters and Sutton, about 30 minutes in. Yay. https://www.facebook.com/RedZoneExtra/videos/1454194564710032 That would lend credence to Mellinger saying it was a cowardice move, it you pick your crap DC over your best defensive player

dksww 484
Mellingers article is having it both ways. I'm pretty sure he was writing scathing articles about Peters this season when he played poorly until the suspension.

liquidfriend 1,151
The Chiefs made the post-season every single year Peters was a Chief and got their first playoff win since 1993 his rookie year, after missing the playoffs completely the previous year. Multi-time all-pro player. Clark Hunt signed off on Marcus Peters, and so did Andy Reid who has a desire to take on troubled players. They failed to vet this choice properly. The Defense thrives off turnovers and just sent the guy with the most amount away, for probably a bad return because they didn't want to pay him. Man, yikes. FANATIC 852
This really makes me think about my Chiefs fandom after 34 years. Agree. Rams are going for it. KC is not. I think I read KC has 85 million in cap space in 2019. If true: I wonder who they are going to give that money to?
hankstromboli 25
What surprises me is they’ve agreed to trade peters without agreeing to compensation. It’s kind of odd and has to be the reason why we haven’t heard anything so far
