Releasing Suh now would save the Dolphins just $3.9 million against the cap. You can designate someone as a post-June 1 cut now, to get the cap savings now. I think you can do this one time per off-season. EDIT: Balto just stated it's 2 post june 1 cuts per off-season which I think is correct as well. The team won't save any extra money its just that the Savings/dead money can be spread over two years. I think anyways? you get the cap savings now with a post june 1 cut prior to june 1. i think you're right, you get 2 of those per off-season.
