Say what you want about Reid and the play calling..When I go back and look at those games what I see is a lot of players simply not stepping up and making plays. Just one key stop on a third down could have been the difference between winning and losing. Or one more 1st down on the offensive side. It's maddening. Drops and missed tackles cost us big time vs Tenn. So Veach signs the WR who dropped the least passes and the LB who missed the least tackles. Also while Peters was great in coverage, he was the worst tackler on the team. Gone. Enter Fuller who’s one of the better tacklers at corner. Veach is attacking our weaknesses and making this entire team much younger. But realistically It’s going to take two off seasons to truly rework defense from the old, slow and soft group it had become. Any notion he’s settling for some sort of mediocre defense in his overall plan is very shortsighted. Just ask all the plus 30 veterans still left on our roster. Meanwhile without the help of any draft yet he’s already completely rebuilt the ILB position. And replaced volitale Peters with a similar even younger talent in Fuller.
