Used our 3 to trade up in round 2 for Zay Jones, and our 1 last night to trade up for Tremaine Edmunds.They also staked off Sammy Watkins to make it happen. They also could have drafted Watson last year and let both sit behind Taylor for a year....lol. With the roster we have, we will simply not be able to keep people like Houston and others on their next contracts without having the money. Think of Mahomes' contract in a few years. I think we are done with big name FA's for a while. We have done that with Watkins and others. The plan going forward will likely be having young, cheaper guys who can be developed by great coaching, not big name FA's. in 2019, the Chiefs have $21m in cap space with Houston on the roster. in 2020, the Chiefs have $55m in cap space with Houston and Watkins as the 2 highest paid players. They don't have to sign Mahomes until after the 2022 season.
