"Last year we had a situation where [Ford] was hurt, right?" Veach said. "Frankie Zombo had to play a lot of plays. Now we bring Breeland in here and we feel we have the ability to have Justin, Dee and then Breeland in there. And then Tanoh [Kpassagnon] can still develop and do a little bit of both [strong side and weak side linebacker] and then Frankie can assume more of a [special] teams role."

Then why did we draft Dee Ford or KPass? Why did we sign Houston to a long-term contract? After all of those actions if we are still looking for OLB help then those moves were failures.

Don't know if they consider guys like Ford or KPass failures but personally I prefer to have a staff that identifies the failures and focuses on fixing them. IMO Ford is done in KC after this year and the only reason he's in town is the 5th year guarantee due to injury.

The best case scenario is that KPass will be very good and we'll have more of a rotation with Speaks and the worst case scenario is that KPass turns out to be a bust in which case we won't have all our eggs in the same basket. Besides Houston isn't getting any younger.

So, predictions on the dime package?:

DBs

Fuller

Amerson

Nelson

Berry

Murray

Watts

LBs

Hitchens

O’Daniel

DL

Houston

Speaks

Jones

Murray or Watts could be swapped out with Sorenson. Speaks would move inside.

Yeah, I think you are spot on..... Ford is a goner after this year & KPass is still a wild-card: maybe he’ll be a beast/maybe he’lll be a bust. This will be a very interesting year for KPass.
