Sign This Guy... Mychal Kendricks

Recommended Posts

Eagles released SLB Mychal Kendricks.

Kendricks was designated as a post-June 1 release, clearing $6 million in cap space while leaving behind $1.6 million in dead money. The move comes after the Eagles (again) failed to find a trade partner for their two-down thumper. Kendricks wanted to play all three downs. Going on 28, Kendricks had one of his best seasons in 2018. Provided he's healthy — Kendricks is recovering from an ankle scope — he won't be on the open market for long. Linebacker is a position of need for the Eagles.

Would be a great signing IMO. We aren't as deep at ILB and injuries could happen. However I think someone will pay him more than we can. There's already very little flexibility at cap and I don't think Veach stretches it out for anything other than DB unless there's an injury.

We see winning teams make it work when they are going for it. Pats Packers etc. If KC thinks this is the year then you get deals done. If they are really planning on 2019 as the year, as many of us believe, then they do not make a deal. Pats do this every season and somehow it works out.

I don’t think we will be as flush as we think next year either. Need to redo Watkins, resign Morse, hopefully Nelson or Amerson earn a contract. Not sure who else is up for FA.

Pretty reasonable list — I can’t see them making big pushes for Ford, zombo, bailey (if he survives cuts), Conley, etc.

Jones, Hill, Fuller, Ragland all coming up in 2020 though...

Can't imagine Amerson being here more than one year and right now Nelson has to show a lot to get a 2nd contract.

I really don't see any must keeps right now, outside of ERFA tagging Butker.

I hope we extend some of our 2020 guys during the season to right before next season
