sith13 1,746 Posted July 27, 2018 Share Posted July 27, 2018 Hali and DJ weren’t performing well in the 4-3? DJ never lived up to his potential and in fact ended up relegated to backup role. Hali started off very well but hasn't been good after Allen left. He went through a full season with 3 sacks and a handful of tackles. Once we switched to 3-4 they both improved dramatically. However when we were making the switch everyone was talking about how good Turk McBride would be in the new system and how Hali and DJ weren't good fits. Hali was pretty solid in the 4-3 just not quite the pass rusher he became after the switch. You have to remember how bad those teams were under Herm. Hali and DJ weren’t the problem IMO.
