Lucas failed to make the Dolphins out of training camp last season but was promoted to the active roster after spending a month on the practice squad. After losing Marcus Peters and Terrance Mitchell this offseason, the Chiefs are looking for any help they can get in the secondary. These are back of the roster moves. Remember how aggressive Veach was in the draft? This is Veach being aggressive due to his low position in the waiver pickup order. He has shown if he likes a guy, he goes and gets him. I think he doesn't like the DB depth so he's going and getting guys he likes because he doesn't think they'll be there when KC is up in the waiver grabs.
