ChiefThunder 153
I was just going post about our interest. Wow
oldtimer 8,694
I'm not seeing how the Chiefs can afford him unless they expect to cut Berry or Houston & not sign Ford next year also hints Berry to the IR
VIChiefsFan 262
I would be really happy if we got him for the right price; one of our seconds and a late pick maybe. It also shows Veach thinks we need help and we probably arent getting Berry back soon.

qnet 1,152
That would be huge. My thinking is having him and Berry in the backfield. It's just too good to be true and I agree with OT, and don't see how the Chiefs pull it off.
DieHard 2,061
I guess that tells us all we need to know about Berry’s health.
gochiefsgo 380
Yeah this also "seems" to indicate that the Chiefs would be "all in" on this season to make a serious run at it. I don't think that they expected to have a "biblical" offense like this. You shore up that Defense with a trade like that and it's on. This would be a serious signing for the Chiefs. Arguably the top safety in the game.

sith13 1,746
Either it would include an extension or we would be giving up a late pick since it's basically a 4-month rental. Financially it could work as we can always get rid of Sorensen and save some money, already have just over 6 million in cap space.
Calichief 3,017
It means the Chiefs think they can win a super bowl right now. and Berry is probably done ✅
Chiefsfan1963 1,101
I have no problem with it for at least 2 reasons, he's still a very good safety and a good locker room guy. Basically the same reason I hoped Berry could have made it back.

Berry excels in the box. Thomas excels playing the deep middle.

The heel injury doesn't seem that bad, and any conversation about the Chiefs making a run would include both safeties, not one or the other. Having just Berry or Thomas doesn't do enough as bad a the Chiefs defense has been IMO. Hopefully I'm wrong, but that's I I see it.
kkuenn 3,611
Well if we can extend him and we have cap space next year, plenty of it, then why not? Berry and Thomas would be lethal and allow us to develop behind them while drafting other needs
xen 1,010,220
I don't know. That's a lot of money tied up in 2 safeties.
Lamardirts 2,117
I wouldn't say without a doubt this interest has something to do with Berry but I don't think any of us can rule it out either. Its been over a month for a heel issue with no real confirmation of progress. I do think it proves that we are seriously considering going all in this year after how our offense has started the season.
Lamardirts 2,117
Is Bashaud Breeland still available as well?
sith13 1,746
I doubt it's about Berry. Chiefs are serious contenders with this offense and we have more than one need in the secondary. Thomas wouldn't be my first choice but he has been on the market for a while so why not. Thomas can hang out at FS with Berry taking care of the LOS. That's assuming they are scouting us since even though Ware has some reputation Conley is way under the radar.
